Well Hello 🙋🏻‍♀️
Its so good to be back 🛬

I taught my first yoga class yesterday after switching off for over a month and to be honest, I desperately needed this time off to be with family & friends.

And even more honestly, yes it was a whole lot of fun but after a while, my mind & body was craving to get back. For the first time, I felt the itch to get back to work & routine.

And if like me you too are driven by daily routines, here's my advice on creating one:
-Find out what works for you by trying a few different things.
-Remember it takes time & practise to form a routine.
-And always, always follow a routine that supports your health.
Lastly, don't be shy. Let me know if you have a routine?
If not maybe this is a sign😀✅

How you do one thing is how you do everything⚡️

So change one thing at a time and gradually you can change everything.

Today I encourage you to change just one thing, that has been on your mind for weeks or even months now - wake up early? exercise daily? or simply read more often?

Whatever it is, I encourage you to take action on it today.

ꜰɪᴠᴇ ᴡᴀʏꜱ ᴛᴏ ʙᴜɪʟᴅ ᴀ ᴅᴀɪʟʏ ʀᴏᴜᴛɪɴᴇ ✋🏻

Let me start by saying - you DON'T have to be a morning person to have a daily routine but having one can help you establish priorities, limit procrastination & keep a track of your goals.

Now I admit its not always easy to create good habits but, as Brian Tracy says "Good habits are hard to form but easy to live with. Bad habits are easy to form but hard to live with"

And here is something really important to remember: what works for someone else, might not work for you. So it’s important to pick the activities that resonate most with you, the ones that push you to become the best you that you are capable of being…and to keep doing those over and over again.

With that said, lets get straight to the point, here are my 5 ways to build a daily routine.

1. Find out WHAT IS IT THAT YOU WANT - Its very easy to follow other influencers and copy their routine. Just because waking up early works for them doesn't mean it has to work for you! So take the time to think about your WHAT & WHY do you want to add it to your routine.

2. Make IT SIMPLE- If your goal is to eat healthier, prepare your meals in advance for the week ahead. Or if you want to meditate every evening, set up a quiet/cozy spot in your house.

3. Take ONE STEP AT A TIME- Start with one new habit at a time. Don't overwhelm yourself with 10 new habits at once.

4. Tell A FRIEND- By sharing your intentions for a new routine or a goal publicly, you're more likely to stick to it.

5. ENJOY THE PROCESS- Know that habit stacking / setting up a routine takes time. Have fun throughout your journey & keep learning.

If you are including one new habit in your routine, what is that? Let me know in the comments below 👇🏻

Once in a mandala (40-48 days) there will be 3 days where your body does not need any food.
Tomorrow is such a day & its called Ekadashi.

It's considered to be beneficial to fast on this day. And if like me, you are wondering how to figure out which days you do not need food, Ekadashi is a great day to fast.

No breakfast, no lunch but you can eat a meal after the sun sets. (Or you can do a fruit fast)

This is to allow the system to realign itself. Giving such a break to yourself is very good for your health. Your system needs that time to adjust itself & eating daily without a break is a lot of hard work for the body, so give it a pause.

Let Ekadashi fasting cleanse your system, making it vibrant and full of energy again.

Have you tried fasting yet?

PS- missing summer and beach yoga🌞

Age might very well just be a number in all other aspects but, the one thing that turning thirty has made me realise is, just how much I love having my family & friends support me through everything, albeit from 4500 miles away.

No fancy party or a materialistic gift will ever mean as much to me as a gesture of true love. Be it organising a zoom party, delivering a birthday cake or simply calling me to remind me about our crazy times in our twenties - these are the little things that matter more to me than anything.

So grateful to have such a loving set of people, my only wish this year is to fly back to India and see & hug each and every one of them as soon as someone tells me the pandemic is finally over.

Until then though, I refuse to turn 30 because

"You cant skip chapters, thats not how life works.
You have to read every line, meet every character.
You wont enjoy all of it. Hell, some chapters will make you cry for weeks.
You will read things you don't want to read, you will have moments when you don't want the pages to end. But you will have to keep going.
Stories keep the world revolving. Live yours, don't miss out⭐️⭐️⭐️"
