We have used authentic resources in our Early years practice for many years and are strong believers

Spring is in the air and we’ve had a flurry of activity on our Etsy shop. We are adding new resources this week to try to keep up with the demand. Too late for this gorgeous set as it was snapped up by .uralobjects (who regularly messages us for requests) but get ready for more authentic resources including a few other bug sets coming very soon

*SOLD* All children love learning about dinosaurs! But develop their curiosity and questions further by using real fossils and asking the questions "Where did these come? Where can we find them? Why are they here?" A real fossil dinosaur tooth from 65-135 million years ago will inspire lots of talk and research!

What are you doing to encourage children’s understanding of Easter? On our Etsy store, we have a collection of authentic Easter themed resources to encourage‘Understanding the World’ EYFS curriculum on festivals and celebrations! Included are provocations to start discussions about the importance of Easter traditions. This could also be used as a provocation to start conversations with children about Spring and new life. *Find our Etsy store link in our bio*

We love to see our happy customers ! We believe it is important to add authentic and cultural resources to your Early Years settings. A collection of Eastern European resources which are as always open ended, but could be used to enhance role play areas. It is important that home corners reflect families from your own nursery community as well as wider communities. Using authentic resources from other cultures will support children in developing positive attitudes about the differences between people. By using real resources children are encouraged to ask questions and develop a wider understanding of the communities around them. Follow the link in our bio to purchase our new collection of authentic resources. We hope your love them as much as we do!

Authentic wood at Christmas time? We have sourced resources to put together this amazing nativity scene. In a dolls house sized handmade stable with Ethiopian style carved wooden figures. This is an absolute hands on resource with plenty of room for more than one child, promoting collaborative imaginative play. We’ll add in some ELC lamb and sheep figures for free if that’s something you’d be interested in. It is big, we’ll need to find out delivery costs. If you live within 50 miles of us, we’ll deliver it personally 😘. Interested? PM for more info. throughplay

Some fabulous finds this morning! Carved wooden figures particularly. The set of 15 African animals is going to be a hard one to give up. They’re small but perfectly formed and just the right size to fit in a child’s hand. The evening bags will make a popular addition to a role play area for sure. The vintage diamanté one is heavy and oh so sparkly and offers great opportunities to develop fine motor skills whilst manipulating the clasp. Give us a shout if you’re searching for anything in particular and we’ll keep our eyes peeled while out hunting. We can put together bundles too.

A collection of authentic resources off to their new home at Whipperley school for their new year one and two sandpit area. Whipperley promotes quality provision across all of its year groups. Enabling environments and authentic resources are not only for early years! If you have classes beyond early years in your setting, what do they look like?

This week we delivered 7 Tinker trays filled with natural, vintage and found objects to a Woodside Primary Academy!
‘Loose Parts Play!’ Loose parts mean alluring, beautiful found objects and materials that children can move, manipulate, control and change whilst they play. (Oxfordshire Play Association , 2014).
Children can line up, take apart, redesign, feel, touch, smell in almost endless ways.
Children can turn them into whatever they desire. For example a pine cone can become a prop for Fairy play or an ingredient in play soup. The ideas are endless!
The objects can be used as group collections in baskets etc or in Tinker trays .
The objects invite conversations and interactions and they encourage collaboration and cooperation.
Loose parts are open-ended and therefore possess infinite play possibilities.
Tinker trays are an excellent way of introducing loose parts into your classroom or setting.

Please contact if you would like to order.
