We’ve been getting creative with mark making lately, exploring lots of different tools and discovering the unique effects they can create 🎨

This week has also been full of fun with flowers 🌸 We’ve loved making our own perfumes, experimenting with scents, and enjoying plenty of time outdoors. With the sunshine on our side, we’ve made the most of being in the garden ☀️🌿

Such a lovely mix of creativity, exploration, and fresh air!

Delicious as they are, please be aware that mini eggs are not suitable for young children. They are just the right size to block their narrower airways – this can lead to a risk of choking and a child being unable to breathe.

For advice on how to keep your little ones safe when eating, head over to the Child Accident Prevention Hub website: https://capt.org.uk/choking-prevention/

At Storkway, we’re excited to share that we’ve started Diddi Dance sessions with our children! 💃🕺

These fun-filled classes are designed to build confidence, coordination, and creativity, while encouraging a lifelong love of movement.

The programme also supports the Early Years Foundation Stage framework, thoughtfully incorporating all areas of learning into each session.

From salsa and country to Bollywood, reggae, hip hop, and jive, children explore a variety of dance styles from around the world—giving them the perfect opportunity to enjoy movement and music in an engaging and inclusive way.

We can’t wait to see their confidence grow as they dance, learn, and have fun together!

Yesterday we hosted a lovely Mother’s Day tea to celebrate our wonderful mums and carers 💐

It was so nice to see such a great turnout, with everyone coming together to spend some quality time with one another. Instead of the usual quick hellos at drop-off and pick-up, we were able to sit down, enjoy some food and drinks, and let the children play together.

A big thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a special gathering.

At Storkway, we focus on learning through play and design activities that reflect the children's interests. We encourage cooperation, helping to develop their social skills, as well as sharing and taking turns. We aim to support their language development by modeling and extending their language during play. Through these playful experiences, children will engage in early numeracy, problem-solving, and creativity by building models, participating in arts and crafts, and exploring various textures and materials.

This morning, the children took part in an engaging ZooLab session, during which they were introduced to a variety of animals. They had the opportunity to observe and, in some cases, handle a corn snake, tree frog, gerbil, giant African snail, millipede, stick insect, and tarantula, learning about each species’ characteristics, habitats, and behaviours.

We've been having a wonderful time exploring the books ‘The Hole in the Bottom of the Sea’ and ‘We All Go Travelling By.’

The children have been super engaged, rescuing the sea animals stuck in the hole, and they've had a blast painting and crafting their very own sharks. They also loved building train tracks and digging roads in the sand with the diggers, while exploring water vehicles like boats. It’s been so much fun cheering each other on as they raced cars, trains, and planes down the ramp, excitedly shouting, “Ready, steady, goo!”

Despite the wet weather, we turned it into another adventure by using powder paint to create colourful rain art in the garden and riding bikes and scooters to make tracks on the ground. The little ones also enjoyed making wheel marks with cars and paint on paper.
