Dear mama, YOU ARE A LEADER. You may not have recognised that yet. Leadership is a misused term nowadays - it’s applied to the people in charge, bosses, politicians etc, but few of these people are actually leaders.
Leadership refers to those who take a stand for what’s right, who speak up when no one else will, who consider the whole.
Mothers are leaders. I’ve never met a mother who does not want better for her children than she does herself, who isn’t willing to put herself on the line, who isn’t directing her efforts towards creating a better world - and a better her / for her children.
This is the true meaning of leadership.

You are a leader. I acknowledge and honour you for the work you’ve done as a mother and the work you will do.

This isn’t even news - it’s obvious. And yet it might be obvious to you (as a parent) that you could have experienced this as a child. Why? We tend to justify how we were raised as ‘not that bad’ or even ‘normal’ (this is especially true if the parenting caused trauma, which is often blocked out). Parents, you deserve unconditional love just as much as your children ❤️

We are our children’s greatest role models and teachers (and they are ours).

What you want for your children, want for yourself too. It’s one of the greatest gifts you can ever give them.
