You can often spot dyslexics in the workplace (and in the classroom) by their strengths and challenges.

We often score very high in some things ⬆️ (often in the top percentile) and very low in others ⬇️ (often in the bottom percentile). This is known as a 'spiky profile'. 📈

For example:

😊 71% of dyslexics are great at communicating (verbal reasoning) - but 89% are poor spellers (working memory)

🔎 8 out of 10 dyslexics are above average at lateral thinking (questioning), but 9 in 10 struggle getting thoughts on paper (organisation).

We are pleased to announce a new series of four Q&A 'ask the expert' discussion sessions with Denise Drinkwater, starting with 'Supporting literacy at home' on Tuesday 27 February, 10-11.15am.

There will be a short presentation by Denise Drinkwater followed by the opportunity to ask questions.

Whether your child has a diagnosis or not, if they are struggling with literacy, it can be difficult to know how best to support your child. This session provides the opportunity to ask questions about/discuss issues specific to your child to help support them at home and at school.
