❀️🌍 "Celebrating the 'Courage' theme for Refugee Week 2026 was the focus of our Youth SVP group at Holy Family. Together, we shared personal stories that honoured the resilience many of our students bring to our school and local communities. We reflected on how courage can also be found in simple acts of kindness such as opening your door to a neighbour, helping someone who is new to your community, or offering a warm smile and hello. The word 'courage' comes from the Latin word cor, meaning 'heart', and during this special month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we are reminded of the importance of coming together as one community with compassion, understanding and love." ~ Mrs Grierson

πŸ—£οΈβœ¨ "A big thank you to the Jack Petchey Foundation for helping us put on the Talk The Talk Oracy workshop for our Year 12 students. Students shared positive feedback, with comments including, 'Today helped me feel much more confident about speaking in an interview' and 'The workshop helped me understand how important body language and eye contact are.'

For our Year 12 students, developing strong oracy skills is key to preparing for future work interviews, work experience, university, apprenticeships and employment. Being able to speak with confidence, structure responses clearly and present themselves professionally can make a real difference to their next steps. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to build valuable skills for their future." ~ Mrs Wilbraham

❀️🧡 "June is traditionally devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and our Peace Club students marked this special month by taking part in a craft activity making macramé hearts. This meditative activity allowed each student to let their thoughts guide the pattern they created, beautifully honouring the Sacred Heart tradition." ~ Mrs Grierson
