Oo! Just realised I still have quite the stash of leaflets I got printed in December and only got half-2/3 of the way through distributing them!

Thanks to a cancelled meeting, I'm off to do some drop-offs in cafes in the lovely London sun☀️

If you have any recommendations of good places to leave them, or if your workplace/colleagues would be interested, let me know!

Blackbird Bakery in Queens Road Peckham has been a good one so far.

Wishing you sunny vibes!

Do you ever write letters to yourself?

This is the card I wrote to myself on the final day of the residential first part of Mindful Self-compassion Teacher Training, at the end of March.

There was a lovely array of cards laid out, and our trainers invited us to pick one and then write a letter to ourselves, which we would read in a few week's time, ahead of starting the next step of our training.

So today we were prompted to open the letters, and reading it was such a lovely reminder of the beautiful shared space that was created that week. The compassion and self-acceptance and self-love that was generated by going through exercises alongside each other, sharing our tender emotions and struggles and recognising our shared humanity.

It was a really beautiful thing. I'm so excited to move into the next stage of training, and looking forward to being able to hold spaces like this when running the course in future!

If you're intrigued about using letter-writing as a way of building self-love, I'll share a link, in the story version of this post, to a page with some exercises along those lines.

From my lazy Saturday morning to yours...

A little look back at my Spring so far.

Spring has really been getting me inspired this year.

I always find the new shoots and ready-to-unfurl leaves bring me a spark of excitement, and this year, Spring has come with added excitement of connections with people and communities that are bringing me joy.

So here's the first installment of photo reel highlights from Spring so far, to share a few of these lovely moments. (And Spooky lazing in bed is hot off the press today...but also looked similar in early Spring.

We've got

..This was an event that really filled me with hope and inspiration - it was buzzing with so much energy, and the fact that it all came together because Dipalee suggested it to friends at the school gates and the enthusiasm for women supporting other women in the local area just built it to this beautiful thing!!

Thanks to the brilliant speakers Dipalee Jukes, Giulia Galli and Jessamine Ringer as well as all the other stallholders and attendees! Check out some of them here on Insta, to support local female-led businesses - .carlisle.photography

I'm having a lovely half-work half-hol week in the Lake District with pals.

Isn't it beautiful?! 😍

I could stare at those streams for hours.

Hard not to feel grounded and connected in these moments with beautiful nature.

Though running late for a Teams call after missing the footpath turning back off a peak does change that slightly.

But also leads to more impressive lake views! (Photos 3 and 4).

And hitching a 2 minute drive with a kind family, to make it back in time for Teams. 🙏🏼😂😂🥰

Thank you strangers!

Hope you all have some moments of peace and moments of silly joy in the days ahead. 🤗

This is the face of HOPE.

Hi friends!

I took this photo on Thursday in a moment of feeling inspired and buoyed about what's possible.

It was just after I read a post from a fellow mindful-self-compassion-teacher-in-training where she mentioned the week-long training we recently completed together.

It reminded me of the magic that happens when people come together and share the vulnerable sides of ourselves.

Where we acknowledge our rough edges and our scared and tender parts.

How we become more free by speaking our experiences and recognising our shared humanity.

It also reminded me of just how MUCH incredible work there is going on in the world - initiatives big and small, from people who care about each other, and who care about making the world a kinder, fairer, softer place.

So although I know it could feel out of sync with the general vibe of the world right now, I wanted to share my buzz of enthusiasm - the excitement of remembering how much is possible when we come together as human beings.

I remember this feeling from when I was a medical student in Cardiff and we worked as a grass roots group to build a community where students, refugees, asylum seekers and other local people could come together in solidarity and connect.

For years, as a junior doctor, I felt sad that I had lost that spark, that feeling that we could change things and create a world more in line with what we believed in.

And through various things I've been working on recently (and will share more on soon), I've been getting that feeling back.

So I hope this little note will help pass that positive energy on. Sending love and good vibes.

Happy International Women's Day!

I'm feeling full of beans after meeting with my lovely pal Andrea for a business chat and general human catch up. We met last year via 's Southwark Pioneers programme (supporting emerging local businesses) - thank you !

Excited to see what the next year holds, and hope you're enjoying some sunny vibes wherever you're reading this :)

New blog post!

“Oh! Sadness! I have a super important job, just for you! …[Joy draws a tiny circle around where Sadness is standing.]...This is the circle of sadness. Your job is to make sure that all the sadness stays inside of it!”

I've finally got to writing a post I've wanted to write for aaages - on the wisdom of the film Inside Out, and how it relates to a modality I practice within coaching, called Internal Family Systems. I'd love to hear what you make of this - have you heard of it? Have you seen Inside Out? Did you have the same takeaways that I did? Let me know in the comments.

Also check out the upcoming webinars I'm running on similar topics, and subscribe to the newsletter to stay in the loop (all via the same link).
