Preschool got really creative making their nature inspired clay faces. They gathered natural resources from the park and transformed them into incredible creations. They were not all spooky or scary but they all provided great sensory and creative stimulation. Children talked about different emotions and they tried to guess what emotions each face represented.

Development of early literacy skills and love for reading starts early. Our babies love reading books by themselves as well as listening to stories read to them. Story time is part of our daily routine in all classrooms but children often request their favourite books to be read during the day.
See the link below for some ideas on how to support your babies literacy development.
And enjoy reading books together!

Preschoolers have been talking about autumn season. They discussed the changes around them. They shared their observations on chilly mornings, fallen leaves, rainy days, conkers and acorns. They also started learning about how different animals prepare for winter months. They made beautiful hedgehogs and discussed how we can help them in finding a good spot for their winter sleep.

Toddlers have visited the park on a nature walk and collected some conkers. They then decided to paint them autumn colours. They explored mixing the colours. They discussed how red and yellow makes orange. Some of the toddlers decided to try how the paint and brush feel on their skin. They extended the activity to hand printing :)

Apple and cinnamon cake made by Toddler Two is absolutely the best! That extra T2 touch while measuring, mixing and joining ingredients makes a massive difference :) It disappeared so quickly that we didn't manage to take a photo of this masterpiece. Baking always provides variety of learning opportunities from turn taking and team work through counting and measuring to problem solving and hand eye coordingation.
Share your baking experiences with us!

Preschoolers had lots of fun tending to their vegetable bed during the heat wave. They made sure its really well watered and didn't spare their friends as well. They all enjoy cooling down under a little sprinkle with a garden hose. Children talked about how thirsty the plants are in the heat and how much we all need water to live. Their hard work is already paying off. Preschoolers enjoyed some sweet peas as a snack and can't wait for the tomatoes to get juicy and red.

Preschoolers had a special visitor who came to tell them all about cricket. They learned interesting facts about the game and different countries its played in. What better way to enjoy the weather than to have a session of yoga in the park! Children learnt some new poses and had an awesome time surrounded by nature. They mastered the tree pose and also did some meditation while listening to the birds.

We had very special visitors recently! Fire fighters from a local fire station met us in the park. They had a chat with children about the safety around the fire and what to do to stay safe in our houses. Children were very excited to be able to sit in the fire truck and try on the helmet which they found very heavy. The watered some trees in the park too. Children loved to see how to use a hose. The firefighters also put the siren on which children found really loud. Children were very engaged and had lots of questions about the fire fighters work.

Toddlers were busy spotting different birds in the park. They used binoculars to see them better from the distance as they like to hide in the tree tops. They saw a green parrot and got very excited. Sadly the bird did not like the noise and flew away. The children learned about ways to be around the animals not to scare them away. Toddlers refilled the bird feeder to feed the birds.

Children decided to make a nature treasure box and filled it up with so many lovely things such as sea shells, pine cones, concors, dried flowers and interesting rocks. They also decided to try their hands and flower pressing as they had lots of flowers from their nature trail. Children really enjoyed it and used their pressed flowers to make lovely artistic pictures.
