We were delighted to welcome Residents to our succah this week. The Y1 children hosted our guests so beautifully.
Having a great succot outing with KS2 at Knebworth! Exploring the gardens, sketching, playing games and being outdoors!
Do you know the three reasons why this etrog 🍋 is pasul (invalid for ceremonial or official purposes)? Our Y6 investigators 🔎 certainly do and would be very happy to share their learning with you. Wishing the MMK families and wider community Shabbat Shalom and Chag Sameach.
Very proud to be working with Seed and Mill Hill Synagogue. Thanks to all our parents who supported the initiative!
Wishing all our families an easy fast!
Year 5 and Year 6 walked to the Silk Stream on Hale Lane, to perform Tashlich. Well done to the children for reading the prayers and for putting their learning into practice.
Thank you to for donating this beautiful Aron HaKodesh to us and thank you, Sam for opening it whilst the children sang Avinu Malkenu.
The children at MMK have been very 'buzzy' getting ready for Rosh Hashannah. Have a look at just some of the things we've been up to. Wishing all our MMK families and the wider community, Shana Tova.
Well done to all our MMK shofar competition finalists. We look forward to hearing the shofar again on Sunday at shul.
Our Head Pupils and Prefects putting their feet up at the end of their first week in their new roles. Introducing our new Lunch Register and Bread Prefect, Noa.
Mazal Tov to our new prefects: Tefillah - Leo and Alyssia, Tech - Marley, lunchtime role model - Sophie and lost property - Daisy.
What a blast! We began our day with the sound of the shofar, in the Hebrew month of Elul, getting ready for Rosh Hashannah. Thank you to Joshua for being our Ba'al Tokeya.
Welcome back to all the pupils at MMK. We hope you had a great summer break and are feeling refreshed, energised and ready to learn. Wishing everyone a happy and successful school year.
Whilst everyone is on holiday… we still reap what we sow! Lots of produce that tastes amazing and is being used in salads and dinners.
Thanks to all those children who planted and kept the plants and vegetables alive.
We hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday! We look forward to seeing you soon!
Wishing a huge Mazal Tov to our new Head Pupils, Maya and Macy. We can't wait to hear your great ideas and work with you from September.
Wishing all our Year 6 leavers good luck in their new schools. We will miss you!
Wishing all our Year 6 leavers well in their new schools. We will miss you! Have a brilliant summer!
As part of MMK Makes its Mark week, Y6 went to Lodge to sing songs for the residents and chat with them. We are so proud of the way in which Y6 performed and were thrilled to see the joy of the residents during their interactions with the class. Kol HaKavod, Y6.
Very proud of our Year 6 leavers who had their Siyyum and end of year party, last night. They shared all their wonderful memories from the last 8 years. With less than three weeks to go… we’re getting emotional - we don’t want them to leave!!!
Well done to our Year 6 leavers who did a really brilliant job at performing Shrek The Musical Jr.
We are so proud of them!
They showed us what a ‘Big Bright Beautiful World’ is waiting for them. Each time they said they were doing their show, we said…’We know it’s today!’ They let their ‘Freak Flags Fly’ and let us believe ‘things were looking up in Duloc!’
They made us all total believers!!!!
But after two performances, we think… ‘We got them beat!’ They looked totally shattered!!!
We are very proud of our wonderful MMK wonderland that took place last week. Thanks to our PTA for organising it and to all our families for helping and supporting it. We can now start planning how to ensure we continue to provide an excellent education with enriching activities for our pupils in the coming year.
The Year 4 Science Fair started with a BANG! as many parents and grandparents came to see the incredible investigations the children had worked so hard to prepare over the last few weeks. Looking around it was clear that the children were thrilled to see their hard work come alive and share their research with family members. Throughout the day, the pupils replenished their resources and carried out the experiments to all the classes from Nursery all the way up to Year 6. Anyone who entered the hall commented on the calm manner the children collaborated to present their work who were visibly keen to share. Although temperature levels rocketed outside, the children remained focused and fueled with energy until the very end and managed to do a wonderful job with the clean up too!

We were delighted to welcome Rabbi Daniel Fine from Seed on Friday, to run a craft activity with Year 3 children and parents. Families learnt about the phases of the moon and discussed what the moon looks like when it's Rosh Chodesh. They made their own moon mobiles.
On Wednesday 7th June eight girls in Year 5 travelled to Broomfield Park to compete in the new 7 a side Maccabi netball tournament. This was the first time the tournament was played as a 7 a side competition and it certainly suited our team.
In the first game in the group stages MMK beat Clore Shalom 2 - 0. They then played Rosh Pinah and won 2 - 0 and beat Wolfson Hillel B team 3 - 0. The final group stage game was against Akiva B team which we won 1 - 0. In the semi-final we came up against Akiva A team. The game was so exciting with end-to-end action. The girls fought hard all game and in the closing minutes it was still 0 - 0. Unfortunately, Akiva scored in the last minute so they progressed to the final. Losing in the semi finals to the eventual winner, scoring a total of 8 goals and conceding only 1 goal all afternoon is a pretty impressive result. Congratulations to Noa for scoring 7 goals and Macy for scoring 1.
We are very proud of all the team who worked superbly together, listened carefully to coaching tips and made some incredible interceptions.
If you would like to come and teach at our wonderful Mathilda Marks-Kennedy Jewish Primary School - MMK. Please see below!
Today we welcomed DJ Lewis Norton to MMK, to teach KS1 and KS2 some DJing tips and techniques. Children were able to have a go on the turntables and we really feel we might have some DJs in the making.
MMK has had the best lead-up to Shavuot. Yesterday all classes competed in the Shavuot Bake Off and today, the children did educational Shavuot activities throughout the morning. They made fruit smoothies, Shavuot crowns, fruit topped cheesecake in a cup and a model of Mt Sinai. They painted the bikkurim and acted the Story of Ruth.
We are exceptionally proud of the older children who took the younger ones under their wing and we were so impressed with how cohesive the groups were.
Thank you to the MMK staff for running this great day.
Wishing our MMK families and community Chag Sameach and a relaxing half term.
Well done to the Year 5/6 boys football A team, who took part in the Maccabi GB tournament today. You gave it your all, were collaborative, resilient and showed the love you have for the game. We are very proud of you!
Mazal Tov to Y6 who are the winners of the MMK School Council's Shavuot No-Bake Bake Off.
The School Councillors did an excellent job in judging these delicious Shavuot desserts and the classes were expert (non) bakers.
Please use the following https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fCNaKwoOj8M7sApdZA43uTlp-VNRAGyaH17uW8V8Zyw/edit?usp=sharing to find the recipes if you would like to make anything from here, for your own Shavuot celebrations.
Can we beat this? Tomorrow we have fresh fruit to slice and enjoy at our Shavuot house day.
Wishing the children in Y2 a huge Mazal Tov on the occasion of their chagigat hasiddur this morning. We are so proud of each of you and you taught us so much about the tefillot. Thank you to the PTA for sponsoring the brand new siddurim and to Elisheva from Seed addressing the children and parents so beautifully. Well done to the Y2 team for putting this show together and making it so special for the children.
Well done to all those pupils who were invited by our Head Pupils to our Roshims Breakfast. Those pupils who consistently reach golden pot or score the highest amount of Dojos through the month get to have a special breakfast and play games with the Headpupils and Mrs Kaye. They had a really good time!
