📚 Book Donation to Soufriere Comprehensive School!

It was such a joy to visit Soufriere Comprehensive School with my mum and donate books to the wonderful students! While publishers from the UK and US typically send me advance reader copies for primary-aged students, I worked hard to source suitable titles for secondary students.

The students were especially excited about books about stars like Sabrina Carpenter, Lana Del Rey, and Chappell Roan—reading biographies helps young people learn about others' paths to success.

The collection also features a range of titles by black authors showcasing leading black characters, because it's important that stories resonate with children and that they can see themselves in what they read.

It was a pleasure spending time with these wonderful students, and thank you to Ms Emma Hippolyte for providing the details that made this visit happen! Thank you also to Ms Sharmay Mitchell for shipping books from London to add to this collection.📚✨

📚 Fabulous Visit to Piaye Combined School! 📚

What a wonderful experience visiting Piaye Combined School! A huge thank you to Ms. Edgar for her passion, persistence, and patience in making this visit happen. It's clear she loves books and wanted to further encourage this passion for reading at Piaye Combined School!

During the visit, my mum and I loved discussing with the amazing Principal, Ms. Etienne, the numerous ways she intended to use the books and all her wonderful ideas for further encouraging reading for pleasure at Piaye!

This was one of our favourite visits! We received a very warm welcome, and everything was beautifully organized just for my mum and me.

We really loved the library space at Piaye—a wonderful area specially curated by the school librarian where the children enjoyed listening to stories and discussing books! It's such a special place for young readers! ✨

We look forward to supporting Piaye Combined School by donating new books throughout the coming years! Thank you for having us! 📚💫

📚 Exciting School Visit to Soufrière Infant School! 📚

This week, my mum and I had the pleasure of visiting Soufrière Infant School! We were warmly welcomed by the amazing Principal, Mrs. Cyria Lafeuillee!

We loved the incredible environment at Soufrière Infant School—walls adorned with beautiful art, lovely plants and flowers everywhere, and gorgeous spaces for children to enjoy playing!

The children showed so much excitement towards the books and were keen to get reading! 📚 They especially loved the books featuring well-known TV characters like Bluey and Peppa Pig! There were also a wide range of books showcasing diverse characters who looked like them!

📚 Amazing School Visit to La Guerre Primary School in Babonneau! 📚

Last week, my mum and I had the pleasure of visiting La Guerre Primary School. As we approached the front steps, we were greeted with lovely smiles and received beautiful hugs from some of the students—it was an instant heartwarming moment!

Today's visit was especially special because it included a visit from the reigning Caribbean Carnival Queen 2026 and Miss Saint Lucia, Miss Emerle Tisson!

The Queen read the perfect book for the occasion: "C is for Carnival" by Yolanda T. Marshal.

"D is for dance! E is for emancipation! From A to Z, this is a rhyming alphabet book that celebrates Canada's Caribbean Carnival!"

This engaging and educational book features a diverse cast of children in vibrant costumes as they 'play mas' while dancing to Soca and Calypso music.

This beautiful collection of books featured a huge variety of diverse stories, especially chosen so that the children can be inspired and see themselves in the stories they read.

I was delighted to hear that the Principal had so many wonderful ideas about how to use these books across the curriculum!
