Year 5 and Year 6 proudly performed Oliver with a Twist as their end of year performance, with Year 6 taking the acting roles, ably supported vocally by a fantastic chorus formed of Year 5, who performed all of the songs word perfect and harmoniously. There were some fantastic stand out performances and everyone gave it their absolute best, whether they had a large or smaller part. It was fantastic to see the children shining brightly on stage, full of confidence and excited to be performing to their family and friends. Well done Year 5 & Year 6!

Our certificate assemblies at the end of term enabled us to celebrate some of the amazing pupils who attend Quest Primary, and have really shone this year. Certificates were awarded to pupils in each class for excellence, effort and friendship. Miss Stawman presented Headteacher awards for demonstrating our school values and Mrs Beirne presented RfP certificates. To receive a certificate, the chosen pupils must have demonstrated consistently either being a fabulous friend, academic excellence or making superb effort and are role models for others across the school. It was incredibly tricky to pick just three from each class as we know so many of our pupils could have been chosen, but congratulations to those who received certificates this year, we are very proud of you all.

A group of our QPS pupils paid their fifth and final visit of the term to to chat and share some social time with the clients who attend. Jenga, Dobble and Snakes and Ladders brought everyone together and the children had a fabulous time playing the games with the older people attending. The children are looking forward to returning in September after the school holidays, to continue to build relationships and share lots of fun and laughter.

A big thank you to everyone who attended our annual Booknic - we believe we had over 100 parents attend - which is a record for Quest Primary. It was lovely to see so many of you sharing stories with your children. We hope you all have a lovely summer and will visit the library to enter the Summer Reading Challenge.

We are delighted to share that Quest Primary has been awarded The Reading for Pleasure Silver Quality Mark. This has been awarded following three years of work to implement, develop and refine RfP across the school - with transformational results. Seeing how much our pupils and staff love and enjoy their reading, and advocate for it to others, is one of the true highlights of our school. Our motto is 'learning changes lives' and we know that reading does too.

Our letter from the UKLA and OU states:
'The panel greatly enjoyed reading about the impact of the RfP work you have developed and embedded across your school. It was clear that, due to your direction, determination and dedication RfP has a central place within your school and your children and staff are benefitting. We expect you are beginning to lever social change through this work.'

This has been a whole school piece of work, spearheaded by Mrs Beirne whose passion for RfP has helped us reach this milestone - thank you. Thank you also to every teacher, LC, parent and pupil who has supported us to embed this culture at QPS - it is truly making a difference

Today we said goodbye to our wonderful Year 6 class. We wish them every bit of happiness and success as they move on to the next exciting chapters of their lives. Keep in touch Y6, we will miss you!

Years 5, 2 and 6 had the exciting opportunity to visit Fairfield Halls to meet the inspiring authors and illustrators Neil Cameron, Joseph Coelho and Hannah Gold at the London Schools Literature Festival. They shared fascinating insights into their journeys to becoming authors and spoke about the wonderful books they have written. Year 5 and Year 2 even had the chance to draw along with the illustrators, bringing stories to life through their own creativity. It was a truly memorable experience for our children, who also got to have their books signed by the authors. We hope this inspiring visit has sparked a love of reading and writing—and perhaps inspired some budding authors to follow their dreams!

Nursery enjoyed a wonderful trip to Deen City Farm as part of their understanding of their learning 'The World Around Me.' The children were able to get up close to lots of the animals and had lots of fun at the farm. They also did a wonderful job at travelling back to school safely when the trams were cancelled and they had to instead use several buses, after a busy day! Well done to all of the Nursery class and a big thank you to all of the adults and parents who supported the trip.

We were delighted to host our MP for Croydon East, Natasha Irons, here at Quest Primary last week. Natasha spent time with Miss Stawman finding out about our school and then had the pleasure of meeting with two of our groups of pupil leaders - our Reading Ambassadors and then our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors. The children spoke brilliantly about the Reading for Pleasure culture at Quest Primary, and why reading matters to them, and how it is celebrated here. The Anti-Bullying Ambassadors shared the work they have undertaken to raise the awareness of bullying at QPS and ensure all children feel safe and like they have someone they can speak to if they are worried about anything. A big thank you to Natasha for taking the time to come and see QPS in action.
