The Tagore Centre UK

UKBC 2026 wrapped in Cambridge, and what a way to close it out! 🧡

Our stage segment brought together tabla, keyboard, vocals and a stage full of talent in yellow and orange. Huge thanks to everyone who came up to us afterwards with questions and kind words about our work; the response was overwhelming and means the world to the whole team.

A big thank you to all our performers and organisers for the energy they brought, and to Swati Mukherjee for capturing it all on camera.

প্রাণের মানুষ | PRANER MANUSH
12 September 2026 · UKBC, Cambourne

Inspired by the Baul tradition and its profound philosophy, Rabindranath Tagore searched for the "Divinity Within" — the true human spirit within us. Like Lalon, he envisioned a world beyond the divisions of caste and creed, where every human being is valued with dignity and where the light of consciousness leads us towards freedom and unity.

Praner Manush celebrates this timeless vision through rhythm, music and movement.

The Tagore Centre UK is proud to support UKBC at Cambourne this year. We will be participating on the 12th of September with a small music group — a few voices, a few instruments, and a song that has travelled a very long way to reach this field in Cambridgeshire.

If you are coming to the convention, do find us. Sit with us for a while. These songs were never meant to be performed at an audience — they were meant to be shared.
