Luísa Diogo was the first woman to lead Mozambique as Prime Minister in 2004. The first of 8 children, Diogo grew up during the country's war for liberation and earned her undergraduate degree in Economics from Eduardo Mondlane University in Mozambique. She then went on to complete a Masters in Economics from the University of London and after working for government served at the Word Bank.
