It’s been a supercharged month with tons to do and 2 new jobs alongside attending UN conference meetings and so,
🇺🇳As we wrap up CSW68, I would like to express my deepest gratitude for having had the opportunity to be selected as an official UN Women UK conference delegate again this year.
🇺🇳The 68th Conference on the Status of Women, UN’s largest annual gathering on gender equality and women’s empowerment, aka , has today adopted the Agreed Conclusions👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Women and girls who live in poverty become “shock absorbers” during times of crisis, and the international financial architecture is not fit for purpose in “a crisis-prone world”.
The Conclusions recommended;
* Including a gender lens in national budgeting processes.
* Engaging and financing women’s organisations.
* Strengthening the international financial architecture.
🇺🇳Member States committed to eradicating women’s and girls’ poverty.
And a personal fave of mine was the commitment to include young people in decision making moving forward, hence making them today’s leaders instead of continually calling them tomorrow’s leaders🥳🙌🏾
