When children spend time in nature, they’re not just playing…
They’re creating.
They’re questioning.
They’re observing.
They’re problem-solving.
They’re learning to care for the world around them.
They’re developing resilience, confidence and independence.
And perhaps most importantly in today’s busy world…
They’re slowing down 🤍
At Wildlings, we see this every week…
A child who arrives shy and uncertain, gradually finding confidence.
A child who becomes completely absorbed in building, mixing, collecting and creating.
A child who notices a butterfly, follows an ant trail or proudly identifies a minibeast they’ve discovered.
These moments might look simple, but they are laying the foundations for lifelong learning.
Nature doesn’t rush children 🌲
It gives them space to think, explore, imagine and simply be.
That’s why every Wildlings session is carefully designed to harness the incredible learning opportunities that already exist all around us in the forest…Because some of the most valuable learning doesn’t happen at a table.
It happens with muddy hands, curious minds and a sense of wonder. 🍃

Every. Single. Activity at Wildlings has a meaningful learning intention behind it 💭
Your child probably won’t notice… but that’s the goal.
Because to them, it’s simply play.
Whether they’re scooping, pouring, building, sorting, mixing, balancing, creating, speaking or imagining they’re developing skills that support:
✨ Communication and language
✨ Fine motor development
✨ Problem solving
✨ Creativity
✨ Confidence
✨ Understanding of the world
The best learning genuinely happens when children are engaged, curious and having fun.
That’s why you’ll often find little information signs and activity prompts around our setups. They’re there to give parents ideas, explain the learning and inspire simple activities you can recreate at home using everyday natural resources.
Play with purpose. Learning through joy.

“The session length is perfect!”
So, why are our sessions 3 hours long? ⬇️
The simple answer? Because family life isn’t always predictable…
As a parent myself and a long-term nanny, I’ve been to plenty of playgroups where it feels like you’ve only just arrived before it’s time to leave. Sometimes getting everyone dressed, packed up and out of the house is the biggest achievement of the morning!
At Wildlings, families are welcome to come and go anytime between 10am and 1pm.
👶🏼 Need to leave early for a nap? That’s absolutely fine.
🧺 Want to stay for the full session and enjoy a picnic in the forest? We’d love that too.
The longer session takes away the pressure. No rushing. No feeling like you’ve missed half the activity because your little one needed a snack, cuddle or toilet stop.
Just time to explore, play, connect and enjoy the forest at your own pace.
