3 Quotes explained:

1. Find a depth of feeling attached to your character’s circumstance, but relax externally as an actor so as not to try to overly push or demonstrate your work

2. Behaviour, feeling and experiencing the role is more important than simply trying to get the lines in the correct order

3. If you have to make a cup of tea on set - do it. If you have to manipulate someone - actually manipulate the actor in front of you - do it. Don’t pretend, don’t hold back (respect boundaries and be professional).

3 reasons improvisation is useful -

1. It releases you from your DMN (default mode network) as an actor, breaking you out of your comfort zone
2. It helps you to Intuit; actors you won’t always have the luxury of a script, at times you have to create and think on your feet
3. It encourages the actor to take risks and to gives yourself as chance to fail

We are incredibly proud at The Actors Cafe to see one of our talented student actors Sarah Priddy, , featured in the series *Disclaimer*, which just screened the opening episodes at the London BFI Film Festival! *Disclaimer* will be available on Apple TV starting October 11th, and you can catch Sarah in Episodes Six and Seven. This is a shining example of the incredible talent and development we witness from our students . We couldn’t be more thrilled and look forward to seeing even more amazing growth from our actors!”
