A Silver Age for the Essay?

The Silver Age of Essays - The Paris Review In Phillip Lopate’s introduction to ‘The Contemporary American Essay,’ he describes the form as one “uniquely amenable to the processing of uncertainty.”

One of the many reasons that we are committed to the study of nonfiction prose is that it includes the study of such wide range of texts, including these transcripts and other documents from the Lavender Scare hearings and legislation in the United States (1940-1950s). https://www.archives.gov/publications/prologue/2016/summer/lavender.html
