It’s another one of those pairs where the Noun and the verb are spelled the same but pronounced differently. Project (verb) can be used in lots of different ways. But one way it’s used is in reference to the voice- meaning to speak more loudly.

Did you know the second T in this word is silent? Can you think of any other words that might be pronounced in a similar way?

Did you know this “one”? 😉 Even though the spellings are very different, the number ONE and WON (the past tense of to win) are both pronounced exactly the same.

Brrrrrrrr, it’s definitely Chilly here in the UK, better eat some Chillis to warm up! Chilly is another way to say cold. And we pronounce these words exactly the same. Most Brits also pronounce the country Chile the same as these two! Is it chilly today where you are?

Did you get a lie in this morning? I hope so- it’s what Boxing Day is all about, right? Unless you have a toddler, like me, in which case Boxing Day is all about getting up at 6am to PLAY WITH ALL YOUR NEW TOYS. 😁

We were so blown away by the response to our last competition, we decided to do it again!! We’re going to give away 2 more 30 minute 1-2-1 sessions with Helen or Sarah to 2 lucky winners.

To be in with a chance of winning, make sure you’re following this account, like this post, and tag a friend that you think would be interested in the comments.

The competition will close at midnight on December 31st, and we’ll announce the winner on New Year’s Day! You can enter as many times as you like- each new comment counts as an entry. We’ll announce the winners in our stories, and contact you via DM from this account. Good luck! .

It’s not too early for a wine right? It’s Christmas! The difference between these two words is all about the contrast between the consonants /w/ and /v/. Is this something that’s a challenge for you in your speech?

Speaking of wine, join Sarah and I for a glass of (mulled?) wine and relaxed Christmas chat this evening on Instagram live. 8.30 UK time. Xx
