Such sad news. At least his vast and wonderful body of work will be experienced forever 🩷

🏆THE PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS
Our Spring Exhibition saw the return of our popular people’s choice award. Students entered their favourite piece created on the course, and everyone had a chance to vote for their two favourite pictures.
As you can see from the photos the standard of the entries was extremely high, making voting a tricky choice!
🏆We did however have two clear favourites- congratulations to Sandra McCallagh who took the number 1 spot with her polar bear painting in acrylics. Kay Choe was our runner up with her lovely beach walk in watercolour. 👏🏻👏🏻
Sadly neither student was able to attend the exhibition which is why we don’t have them pictured here. But they were both thrilled to learn that they were this years People’s Choice! Congratulations! 🥳🏆

🎨 What an incredible afternoon! On Monday, we held our Spring end-of-term exhibition. Seeing almost 200 stunning pieces across all 4 mediums, created by our wonderful students over the last few months, was truly wonderful!
It was so special to welcome friends and family through the doors and watch our students share their work with the people who matter most to them. Megan and I always knew this was a talented group, but the comments we received about the quality and standard of the work were just overwhelming — and so well deserved!
We couldn't be prouder of every single one of you and the progress you've made. Thank you for making this such a special and supportive community 🖼️✨

🎨 End of Term Reflections 🎨
Our final class of the spring term wrapped up with a beautifully challenging subject-capturing the shifting shadows of dappled sunlight through trees as they fall across walls and buildings. Not an easy task, but they rose to the challenge beautifully 🤩
This term has been something to be truly proud of. The standard of work has been exceptional, with everyone pushing themselves, experimenting, and growing in confidence week by week.
I’m so excited to see all of these incredible pieces come together at our end-of-term exhibition in a couple of weeks. It’s going to be a special one. ❤️
Well done to all my wonderful students 👏✨ and to Megan for getting us there! 🥰

📣 Student Shout Out!
I love love love when students proudly pull out their completed artworks to show us. Often they have finished a piece they started in class.
🎨Sometimes, if a piece hasn’t quite worked, they will apply what they learnt in the session and have another go, learning from mistakes or making slight revisions until they are happy with the picture.
🤩Not every artwork comes together the first time (or even the second), and that’s completely normal. It’s all part of the process — figuring out what works, what doesn’t, and having the patience to keep going. That’s where the real progress happens. ❤️

🎨 We’re back from our Easter break and what a fantastic painting week it’s been!
🖌️We well and truly got our hands dirty by using sponges, paintbrushes and palette knives to build up the layers on these incredible alpine waterfall pictures.
A little bit of paint under the fingernails was worth these beautiful results. 👏🏻👏🏻

📢🤩 Student Shout Out! We might be taking a little break for the Easter holidays, but that doesn't stop our talented students from sending us some of their completed artworks.
🌷Some more wonderful tulips and oysters, plus a fabulous watercolour from Philip.
See you in a couple of weeks!

🎨 This week’s acrylic class was all about exploring texture and getting to grips with palette knives.
🦪There may have been a little moaning about the subject at first, but everyone embraced the challenge. As you can see the results were outstanding. ✨Fabulous impasto oysters!
