When the sun sets on Mars it looks blue!
This is because the dust particles in the many sand storms that occur on Mars can disperse light on the left of the VIBGYOR spectrum. This is light with a shorter wavelength which appears blue and not orange.

‘Butter someone up.’
Have you ever told someone they were marvelous, just to get them to help you?
Yes? Then you already know this one – you were buttering them up!
Buttering up is the art of flattering and praising someone, normally to gain a favour from them.
This idiom originated in India where it was a religious custom to throw butter balls at the statues of gods in the hope that they would bestow good favour and fortune upon you.
