Behold, the rather gorgeous and stupendously useful Project Charter template.
This is where you lay out the terms of your project. What will it achieve? Who is responsible for what? You can add in your risks, your budget, your milestones and then think to yourself "By golly, we've got ourselves a project here, let's get cracking!"
Head to https://buff.ly/T3u2hDy to download yours for absolutely, totally free! (though we do accept chocolate donations, if you insist.)

And for some reason, a lot of people still run their meetings this way - even though it's incredibly outdated.
With technology we have the ability to update actions live in the meeting. When running a meeting, try putting the actions up on screen so everyone can see them, and then update them live.
It's a great way to empower the team as they have the opportunity to change the wording in the moment to make it more relevant/memorable, or even to suggest it might not be their action. It means everyone has a shared view of who needs to do what, and shows that you are open about the updates and listening to your team. Win, win, win.
What do you think? Do you take minutes and actions this way?

Does everyone in your project team understand the differences between risks, issues and non-risks?
This 4-minute wonder: https://youtu.be/piiepAJyoPI will help you to understand the differences between the them, what you should, and should not, be worrying about, and what your response should be to each.
All that in 4 minutes? It can't be done surely?!
It absolutely can, my friend.
(and don't call me Shirley.)
