🗣️ Comment “PURE” if you want a more consistent swing and cleaner ball striking!

One of the biggest keys to great ball striking is a stable axis. 💥

From the front view, your shoulder turn should stay centered with very little head movement.

That's what you see from the best players.

The challenge is we're bent over the ball.

If you simply turn while staying in your forward bend, your head moves, your backswing gets shorter, and consistency disappears. ❌

Instead, as you swing back, begin to extend out of your forward bend.

As you stand up (chest up to the sky), combine that movement with lead side bend (lead shoulder down).

That allows you to make a centered shoulder turn (keeps your head stable) and create a longer, more efficient backswing.

Master these movements and you'll build a swing that's much easier to repeat. 🏌

🗣️ Comment “PURE” if you want to understand the real difference between driver and irons!

Driver vs Iron — same swing or different? 🤔

The simple answer is the swings are mostly the same, but there is one fundamental difference.

The major movements of the swing are very similar between irons and driver. But one key reality changes everything:

With irons, the ball is on the ground. With driver, the ball is on a tee in the air. That alone tells us something has to be different.

So what’s the one simple thing you should focus on to separate the two? It’s the lead shoulder.

This entire concept revolves around how the lead shoulder moves in the downswing, because that movement helps create the different club deliveries needed for irons versus driver.

Let’s start with an iron. With something like a 7-iron, the ball is typically positioned near the center or slightly forward of center in your stance. Importantly, the ball sits behind the lead shoulder, which acts as the center of the swing.

When the ball is behind that center, it creates an angled swing radius 📐

That angled radius helps you:
1️⃣ Hit down on the golf ball ⬇️
2️⃣ Strike the ball first and the ground second

That is control of the low point — ensuring it is forward enough AND low enough to reach the turf.

That’s the foundation of solid iron contact, and it sets up the key difference we’ll make later when we talk about the driver. More on this topic coming in the next few posts!

🗣️ Comment “PURE” if you want to stop slicing your driver and gain effortless distance!

Driver Mistake — the LEAD SHOULDER moving too far back.

When trying to hit up on the ball, which many of you think you’re supposed to do with the driver, a common mistake is positioning the lead shoulder too far behind the ball.

The first mistake I see is at setup. You may have been told to lean behind the ball, but when the lead shoulder gets too far back, the bottom of your swing moves too far back as well.

From there, you start cutting across the ball, slicing it, and losing a lot of distance.

The second mistake happens during the swing. You come into the ball thinking you're supposed to hit up on it, and your lead shoulder moves excessively backwards ⬅️

You must pay attention to these driver keys if you want to eliminate your slice and gain distance.

Give it a try and let me know how you get on 💪

🗣️ Comment “PURE” if you want to become a more consistent ball striker!

Keeping your weight on the lead side isn't the only way to control the low point...but it is the simplest. 💥

It's a much easier swing to repeat because you're not trying to time your weight moving back and forth.

If you're a recreational golfer who only plays once a week, that's an incredibly difficult move to time consistently.

Instead, put your weight on the lead side...and keep it there. ➡️

The best players control the low point because they can control where their weight is.

The result is cleaner contact (low point after the ball) and more consistent distance and direction.

If you want to start controlling the low point of your swing, start by controlling your weight.

Weight forward. Stay forward. And start hitting some of the best shots of your life. 🏌

🗣️ Comment “DRILLS” if you want to improve your ball striking instantly!

One of the fastest ways to improve your swing is to learn a great finish position. 💥

There are three simple movements:

1. Extend your body. ⬆️

2. Push your hips forward toward the target while keeping your head relatively stable (create a side bend).

3. Then rotate and face the target, maintaining all of those alignments. 🎯

Start by stopping with your arms straight and the club pointing at the target.

Learn to control the swing and finish in that position every time.

As your speed increases, your arms will naturally begin to fold and your wrists will start to hinge. But don't force that.

Master the alignments first, then build speed.

A great finish leads to a more repeatable swing, more consistent contact, and better ball striking. 💪

It's the excessive turning that you have in the downswing that makes you prone to swinging over the top — and that's what makes you a slicer. ❌

So if you can control the trail foot, you can control the swing path.

If you can control the swing path, you can eliminate your slice forever.

So that's really the final thing to focus on — the trail foot in the finish.

Setup with a very slightly pulled back trail leg and the trail foot flared out some 30 degrees.

As you swing through, focus on trying to keep the trail foot down — just keep it closer to the ground for as long as you can — and see what happens to the ball flight.

Less weak slicing....more towering push draws 🚀

Comment "PURE" if you want to compress your irons like the pros 💥

One of the most important moves in the downswing is a lateral shift of the lower body toward the target — and usually EARLIER and MORE than you think.

✅ Checkpoint: by the time your lead arm is parallel to the ground in the downswing, your belt buckle should be stacked over your lead ankle.

🔥 Pro tip: flaring out your lead foot and knee makes this move MUCH easier.

Start shifting, start compressing!

Comment "PURE" and I'll send you the one, simple setup trick that can transform your game instantly!

For many of you, as you reach the ball and go into the follow-through, the trail shoulder starts coming up.

From down the line, you’ll see how that causes you to lose your inclination to the ground.

From the front view, your face becomes visible to the camera — a clear sign the geometry is off.

There are 3 checkpoints:
📍P1
📍P4
📍P9

Your face should be covered by the bill of your cap at all three.

If you're doing that, you're likely creating a pivot and swing that conforms to the correct geometry — making contact more predictable, distance easier, and direction more controllable.

✅ Setup tip:
Look down at the ball, then tuck your chin slightly into your chest.

Keep that sensation throughout the swing!

That alone can help you tilt properly and make solid, repeatable contact much easier ⛳

The 3&1 is the sensation you want to build-in at address:
👉 3 — trail elbow in the "lose the arm wrestle" position
👉 1 — trail wrist in the "shake hands" position

"Lose the arm wrestle, shake hands" 🤝

That’s also the feel you want to carry around your body throughout the swing.

If the 3&1 stay intact, the club face stays square to the shaft, square to the path — all the way through, resulting in straighter shots. 🎯

Where many golfers go wrong:
They twist the shaft, leaving the face open at setup or during the swing.

To fix it, they start swinging over and across the ball.

Then the trail elbow gets out of position — no longer in 3, but in 1 — you’re winning the arm wrestle, and you'd drop the ball. 😬

That open face forces the over-the-top move we talked about.

Keep the elbow in position 3 and the wrist in position 1.

Transport that relationship around the arc — and there’s no way the ball goes anywhere but straight. ✅

Comment "PURE" to instantly transform your ball striking!

I’ve shared this drill hundreds of times with students⛳️

Every time, ball striking improves — quickly.

You’ll hit more from the center 🎯

And when you do clip the head cover, you get instant feedback 💥

The mistake?

People improve… then stop using it.

They think they’ve outgrown it.

But even tour pros such as Tommy Fleetwood use this kind of drill.

If it helps them, why wouldn’t it help you?

Leave the headcover down on the ground. Every session.

There’s no downside — only better contact! 🏌️‍♂️
