Today we're enjoying a wonderfully peaceful afternoon painting en plein air in the beautiful garden of one of our students.

Painting outdoors encourages us to slow down, really observe the changing light, colours and textures around us, and simply enjoy the creative process in nature.

A heartfelt thank you to our lovely hostess, Anastasia, for so generously opening her garden to us. What a perfect setting to spend a summer afternoon with brushes, sketchbooks and good company. 🌿🎨☀️

We will be using his techniques in our Autumn Term.

"L.S. Lowry: The Theatre of Life" (see link in comments) is the first major career survey of LS Lowry's artwork in over a decade. It marks 50 years since his death in 1976. You can see an exhibition of 140 works at the MK Gallery in Milton Keynes from 24 October 2026 – 28 February 2026.
