Pancake Day meets Chinese New Year 🥞🎆
This week we blended the joy of Pancake Day with the excitement of Chinese New Year celebrations in our session 🌟
The children explored fire safety, learning about how to use fire responsibly within a forest school environment. They created beautiful firework-inspired artwork to celebrate Chinese New Year and practised safe fire lighting skills, developing confidence, coordination and respect for boundaries
Hands-on, meaningful learning experiences like this help children make real-world connections while building resilience, independence and curiosity.
Days like these will be the norm at our upcoming Higher Vibration Forest School Nursery, where outdoor learning, life skills and celebration of culture sit at the heart of everything we do.

So… I ordered it to my home to make sure I didn’t miss delivery (jheeeze 😅 that’s happened a few times), but that means I’ve had to put my strongest soldier hat on 💪 and get these muscles working.
I’m so pleased it’s all coming together, brick by brick, at my pace. Challenges along the way, but I wanted to share the journey with you. It’s not always pretty… sometimes I even forget my lip gloss 💄😂

Cold morning, warm hands, even warmer hot chocolate ☕🔥 Even had the children using dragon sneeze to help start the fire.
Nothing beats firing up the Kelly Kettle and letting the day start slow, smoky, and sweet. Frosty air outside, chocolatey comfort inside. ❄️🍫🫖

So proud of both of us! When we first met, we spoke about dreams of forest schools and published books. While my doors may not be fully open yet, who would’ve thought we’d reach this point, turning seeds and cold-day tea conversations into real, blooming achievements. 🌿☕️

First gift from the beautiful family down at the allotments behind the nursery garden a lush bunch of fresh parsley 🌿💚
Feeling so grateful for the kindness and generosity. I dream of offerings of surplus pumpkins, peas, sweetcorn just to name a few of what they are growing and I can’t wait to be part of this little growing ecosystem. Giving back, sharing what we grow, and learning from each other.
