As we wrap up the term at Wren Tuition, it’s been brilliant to see the progress our students have made. Not just in exams, but in the skills they build week to week.

From speaking with greater clarity, to thinking on the spot, to performing with confidence. These are skills that go far beyond LAMDA and into everyday life.

As we head towards the end of term, many of our students are preparing for their LAMDA exams in late March and early April.

It’s been fantastic to see the hard work, focus, and progress in lessons.

It was a pleasure to spend a few days at Old Buckenham Hall School in Suffolk working with a group of 10 international students visiting from Shanghai.

In just six hours of rehearsal, the students worked together to learn and perform a shortened version of Shakespeare’s The Tempest, culminating in a fantastic performance for the whole school. Their enthusiasm, focus, and willingness to dive into the language and characters made the project a real joy.

Projects like this are a wonderful way for students learning English as a foreign language to build confidence in speaking, while also engaging with British theatre and culture.

At Wren Tuition we love supporting short courses and holiday programmes like this — combining performance, communication skills, and cultural exchange.

Public speaking is a skill that benefits children for life.

At Wren Tuition, our Speaking in Public classes help students overcome a task that daunts so many — speaking with confidence in front of an audience.

Through the LAMDA Public Speaking syllabus, learners write their own speeches, research topics, create visual aids, and present their work from memory (or with notecards if preferred).

As they progress through the grades, students develop:

✅ Strong voice projection
✅ Techniques for engaging an audience
✅ A solid understanding of how to structure a speech

These skills don’t just prepare them for exams — they give young people the tools to thrive at school, in interviews, and far beyond the classroom.

She always works so hard in class and we are so proud of this outstanding achievement for her first speech and drama festival.

We are super proud of our student who has just had her first book of poetry published! Francesca is just 13 years old and has an incredible imagination.

It is a wonderful book of poetry and is available to buy on Amazon and Waterstones- we would highly recommend it to parents and teachers to engage 10-14 year olds with poetry .....or in fact anyone!
