Pointe Black is an integrated style of dance that has the foundations of ballet technique and incorporates Black culture through Hip Hop, Whacking, Twerking, Afro, Salsa and Dancehall.

We’re looking for 1 Black male dancer to perform with Pointe Black for our Black History Month season.

MUST HAVE:
đź–¤ Strong classical ballet technique
đź–¤ Strong partnering and lifting skills
đź–¤ Availability for ALL THREE performance dates:
đź“… 17th, 20th & 22nd October

These experiences are not “just part of ballet”. They are racism, colourism, body shaming and exclusion. No dancer should have to accept this as the price of taking part in an art form they love.

That’s why we’ve created the ballet space we deserve. A space where Black dancers can train with excellence, feel safe, see themselves reflected and experience ballet from a perspective that understands them.

We’re breaking the barriers to ballet and redefining what the ballet world can look like for us. 🖤
