Problem solving questions in Maths are difficult for students to answer.

My tips to all my students are read the questions 3 times:
1- Just read it
2- Read it again and now try to understand what they are telling you/asking you to find
3- Read it again underlining key information and what the actual question is.

Then give it a go.
Even just starting sometimes gives you an idea of where to go next!

And finally always check you have answered the actual question.
