On October 10, 2024, the Butterflies class at Willows Preschool, Colliers Wood Nursery, embarked on a delightful trip to Garsons Farm! This annual tradition perfectly ushers in the Halloween spirit, allowing our little ones to dive into a festive atmosphere filled with fun and interactive displays.

From picking pumpkins to exploring various attractions, the day was not only filled with joy but also packed with valuable learning experiences. We love watching our children grow and thrive through these adventures!

The children explored a vibrant playroom filled with costumes, storybooks, and creative activities that sparked their imaginations. From role-playing as their favorite characters to building with magnetic shapes, every moment was filled with laughter and joy.

Our Bumblebees had an amazing adventure at the Polka Theatre in Wimbledon! From building colorful villas with magnetic shapes to dressing up as brave superheroes and fierce Gruffalos, their imaginations ran wild! 🎭✨

Our preschoolers had a fantastic day exploring the theme of 'Family!' They made stick man families to represent their own families, practicing their counting and fine motor skills. They also created patterns and wrote the initial letters and whole names of their parents. We finished the day by discussing different kinds of families and their similarities and differences. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦❤️

Dinosaur Discovery Week! 🦖🦕

Our little paleontologists had a roaring good time exploring the world of dinosaurs this week! They played in a sensory tray with a giant rubber tire, dinosaurs, and AstroTurf, and even engaged in a hands-on math activity sorting dinosaurs by size.

A tuff tray filled with different textures represented the habitats of various dinosaur species, and our little learners learned fascinating facts about these prehistoric creatures.

They also expanded their vocabulary by learning about carnivores, herbivores, and omnivores and cutting out the appropriate food for each dinosaur.

It was a week filled with learning, fun, and discovery!

Roaring Dinosaur Fun! 🦖🦕

Our little paleontologists had a dino-mite day! They played with a dinosaur tire play, learned about different dinosaur names and diets, and even watched a short video to discover more about these prehistoric creatures.

During circle time, we had a musical adventure learning about note values, playing a memory game, and following the rhythm of a tambourine.

To finish the day, we painted dinosaur footprints and practiced writing the word "footprint."

It was a day filled with learning, fun, and creativity!

A Wild Day at Carshalton Park! 🦆🐦

Our Ladybirds had an absolute blast exploring Carshalton Park on Tuesday! They spotted squirrels, ducks, geese, and even a majestic heron.

The park was in full bloom with beautiful cherry trees, and our little ones had a blast collecting petals and running around with the park's furry and feathered friends.

Building Teamwork and Patience 🧱

Our Ladybirds learned valuable lessons about turn-taking and patience this week! Each child was assigned a color and a number, and together they worked to build a giant tower. It was a team effort that required everyone to follow the rules and wait their turn.

We're so proud of their ability to work together and achieve a common goal!

A Sensory Adventure: The Butterfly Life Cycle 🦋

Our little explorers had a blast with our butterfly-themed sensory tray! Guided by Senthuran, they learned about the amazing transformation from caterpillar to butterfly and even saw some of our own caterpillars emerge as beautiful butterflies.

They explored different textures like dried pasta and colored sand, and had a blast identifying the different stages of the butterfly life cycle using small world toys.

It was a sensory-filled experience that sparked curiosity and wonder!
