Open Age are looking for a volunteer DJ to help out with putting on some old school tunes for their members at their summer disco day. The event will be held from 15:15-16:30 on 6th August at the New Horizons community centre in Chelsea, SW3 2PF. The summer disco day is a chance for their members to have a bit of fun and get some exercise.

Open Age are a charity who support older adults (50+) in London stay active, independent, and connected. They do this by running daily classes, providing day trips, and hosting educational talks. Open Age helps reduce loneliness, improves wellbeing, and builds stronger communities for older adults.

Their members rely on the community centre daily, sometimes a class at New Horizons is the only opportunity they have to get out of their home and to speak with other people.

Anyone helping out would need to bring their own DJ equipment along, although I believe they have speakers available at the community centre. Would just need to confirm they’re compatible with your equipment.

🚨 South London is getting a new creative space for DJs, and we’ll be offering our DJ lessons and courses at the new spot from the end of the month. This will be Pirate’s first London location with a bar and event space, giving local artists a place to hang out and connect.

The DJ booths will likely feature Pioneer CDJ-3000s or CDJ-2000NXS2s and DJM-900NXS2 mixers as standard, perfect to practice for your first club gigs.

The new site is located in Brixton Village, and is set to open 30th April 2026. All our sessions will be available at the new location, including 1-to-1 DJ lessons, and our 4-week and 8-week solo DJ courses. Our 12-week group DJ courses will also be available and you can still grab £70 off the group courses until 1st May, just in time for opening.
