We arenā€™t ā€œjust babysitters.ā€ We are highly qualified childcare professionals who have the privilege of helping shape little lives every single day.

For many of our families, that journey begins with a tiny baby taking their first steps, saying their first words and learning to explore the world. We help prepare them for school, celebrate every milestone, then continue to welcome them back for before and after school care and fun-filled school holidays. They grow up and learn with their friends and those first early relationships are so important, especially when they extend into adulthood.

We donā€™t just provide childcare ā€“ we provide a second home. A place where children feel safe, loved, valued and free to be themselves. A place filled with muddy puddles, magical adventures, belly laughs, baking, stories, friendships and memories that last a lifetime.

One of the greatest privileges of being a childminder is watching children grow from babies into confident, kind young people. Many of our families become like extended family, and those relationships are what make childminding so incredibly special.

Some little gifts are just impossible not to get emotional overā€¦ šŸ„ŗšŸ¤

This beautiful candle was such a thoughtful surprise from one of my little ones who is about to spread his wings and start school.

The biggest privilege of this job is being trusted with these tiny humans for such an important chapter of their lives. Watching them grow from shy little explorers into confident, school-ready children is something Iā€™ll never take for granted.

The silver lining is that Iā€™ll still get to watch his story unfold through his little brother, whoā€™ll soon be joining us. šŸ’™ But oh, Iā€™m going to miss this little face so much.

Good luck on your next adventure, superstar. Youā€™ll always have a little piece of Pirates & Mermaids in your heartā€¦ and a huge piece of yours will stay in mine. āš“ļøāœØ

And just like thatā€¦ another crew has graduated. šŸ„¹šŸŽ“šŸ’™

It feels like five minutes ago some of these little legends were arriving in nappies, wobbling around on unsteady feet, attempting their very first words (usually ā€œnoā€ šŸ¤£), and needing cuddles for absolutely everything.

Now look at themā€¦ standing proudly in their graduation gowns, ready for their next big adventure.

Some are off to school, some are moving to new homes and new adventures, but every single one has left their own little footprint here. ā¤ļø

Weā€™ve been so incredibly lucky to watch these amazing little people grow into kind, funny, curious, confident humans. Being trusted with those early yearsā€”the first steps, first words, first friendships and so many magical momentsā€”is something weā€™ll never take for granted.

We are going to miss every one of you more than youā€™ll ever knowā€¦ even the ones who kept us permanently on our toes! šŸ˜‚

Good luck, little graduates. Fly high, be brave, be kind, keep asking questions, keep getting muddy, keep laughing, and never lose that sparkle.

Weā€™ll be cheering you on from the sidelines and canā€™t wait to hear all about your next adventures. Once a Pirate or Mermaidā€¦ always a Pirate or Mermaid. āš“ļøšŸ§œā€ā™€ļøšŸ“ā€ā˜ ļøšŸ’™

Smaller settings are often overlooked. We are often told bigger is better, nurseries are better than childminders and children need to be in school nurseries from 3 but who does that actually benefit? Spoiler alert, itā€™s not the children!!
