Learning to play an instrument, sing or write music is a great way to get creative, manage stress and have quality 'me-time'. You will get a custom learning plan, all material that you may need for practising (music sheet, backing tracks etc.), and very clear tasks what you should be working on by yourself in between the classes. All ages and abilities are welcome - we can start with basics if you’re a beginner or delve deeper into music if you’re a more experienced player (modes, improvising, seventh chords and inversions, quartal harmony, composition, different techniques etc).
I’m a professional musician and educator - I have been teaching for 16 years privately and in secondary schools in Forest Hill. DBS checked.

Set goals - that will help you to stay motivated, track your progress and it feels good to celebrate your accomplishments. For example - I will learn 4 new chords this month, I will nail that strumming pattern in the next two weeks, I will learn three new modes, I will start improvising in the next 2 months etc etc.

Try to record yourself. I promise you, you will be surprised! You will clearly hear things that need to be improved as well as bits that already sound good (give yourself a pat on the back!)

Repetition is they key if we want to learn something new on an instrument. So be patient and make sure that you have a practising routine.

When practising, use backing tracks or play along with a original song. That will help you stay in time, push you to play at the right speed and it's more fun!

When you practise, challenge yourself! You may spend hours playing guitar but not really make a progress if you spend all your time playing something that you already know.
