A group of pre-schoolers went out on a trip to a local playground/park. They discussed what they could see in the environment around them and collected natural objects to bring back to pre-school. The children did so well and we are very proud of them all. Thank you to our parent/guardian helpers. Everyone had so much fun and the weather stayed nice โ˜€๏ธ

Theme of the week - World Ocean Day and The Environment ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿ ๐ŸŸ๐ŸŒŠ

The pre-schoolers have been discussing how we take care of our environment as well as our oceans and the wildlife within it.

The children have been making star fish pictures using Cheerios for texture and creating ocean pictures using paint, cotton buds and foil.

Welcome back pre-schoolers. I hope you all had a wonderful week off, full of adventures.

This week the theme has been, dinosaurs/prehistoric/volcanoes. The children have been learning different dinosaur names and whether they were herbivores or carnivores.
Today we carried out a science experiment using vinegar, bicarbonate of soda and food colouring to create a real life volcano. The children were fascinated watching the chemical reaction take place.

The theme this week is - Human Body, 5 Senses and Letters.

The children have been learning about how we are all different and how our bodies work. We have been measuring our heights, shoe sizes and speaking about what foods are healthy when in our role play food shop.

The pre-schoolers this week have been learning about Road Safety, The Community and Numbers.

Discussions have been had about crossing the roads safely and red/ green light crossings have been made at the craft table.

Thank you so much to one of our parents, who is a doctor and came to speak to the children about keeping healthy ๐Ÿ’ช.

This week the theme has been - Occupations. The children have been discussing the jobs they want to do when they are older. We have had a variety of job titles, ranging from ballerinas, nurses, football players and builders.

Today we were lucky enough to have a visit from real life police officers (Thank You to one of our parents). The pre-schoolers LOVED seeing the equipment they use and having a go in their police car ๐Ÿš“

This week, the theme has been - The life cycle of a frog/pond life.
The pre-schoolers have been making pond collages and looking at the different stages of growth that frogs go through. The children were also very happy and excited when our ducklings went for a swim and enjoyed the sunshine out in our garden area ๐Ÿฆ†โ˜€๏ธ

We have some new special friends that have joined the pre-school this week. Meet Daisy, Sunny and Quacky, our new ducklings that have hatched and the children have named ๏ฟผ๐Ÿฆ†๏ฟผ๐Ÿฆ†๐Ÿฆ†.

Alongside this exciting news, we have been making flags, decorating shields and exploring our new castle, as the theme has been - St Georgeโ€™s Day/Dragons/Knights/Princesses ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ๐Ÿฒ๐Ÿฐ.
