Filmmaking workshop, in UK schools since 2004, now available online. ‘Excellent’ - City of London School

What an incredible Year 7 Taster Day! Filmmaking is a brilliant mix of fun, challenge and creativity - an amazing way for future classmates to connect, explore the school and meet the staff (excellent cameos, btw). Huge credit to the Lower 6th students for their guidance and energy throughout.

We are privileged to be part of Royal High School Bath, GDST’s Festival of Ideas in June. Year 8s from Royal High, Redmaids' High School GDST & Oxford High School will make short films based on inspirational female leaders.

The LeadHERship Project is designed to help Year 8 pupils explore the underrepresentation of women in leadership, understand different models of leadership, and recognise the distinctive contribution female leadership makes across disciplines and societies. The project combines academic enquiry, encounters with real leaders, interdisciplinary workshops and creative communication through film-making.

The project will conclude with a screening event recognising pupils’ work in an Oscars-style celebration. Films will showcase pupils’ understanding of leadership and their ability to communicate ideas creatively and persuasively.

Thank you for inviting us to be part of this excellent initiative, Sallie Taylor and Hadrian Briggs.

Our first visit to Adcote School was brilliant fun. The Hogwarts-esque setting is ideal for filmmaking, and the girls took full advantage - working in mixed-age groups to create a selection of horrors, thrillers and comedies. Congratulations to the Best Picture winners for 'The Fate of Failing', which is eligible for our national schools competition, the 10 Shot Film Awards.

We were truly impressed by Adcote: the location is stunning, the pupils smart & fun, the staff friendly and very much up for a cameo (excellent work, Lucy Martin) - a happy place indeed. What a pleasure to visit, Nicola Tribe, thank you for inviting us. Happy Easter!

Judging Strathallan School’s 80s themed house film competition was an absolute blast. Congratulations to Glenbrae for winning the House Cup with their hilarious ‘Top Gun’ spoof. Am 100% on for judging again next year!

Congratulations on an amazing win. 2025 was Gresham's first year of One Day Film School and they triumphed! Amazing work from such a talented team. Delighted they could attend the Awards in London - great effort by Sue and Darrell.

In August, we’re heading north to Strathallan School — possibly the only school in the world with an actual bear in reception 🐻 — for Year 9 and Year 12 induction film days, capped off with a full red-carpet Oscars Night ✨
What an incredible way to kick off the new academic year!

It was a brilliant event and wonderful to have The Oratory Year 12 'Apocalypse' filmmakers attend. Their film looked even better on the (really) big screen!

Shiny (and apparently very heavy!) trophies for this year’s 10 Shot Film Awards are now arriving at schools across the country. Huge congratulations to all the winners! We look forward to seeing you at the London screening in January.
Creating a film in just 90 minutes — and having it selected from more than 1,000 entries from many of the UK’s leading schools — is an incredible achievement. To then impress a panel of industry experts makes it even more remarkable.
The future of UK filmmaking is looking very bright. 🎬✨

This was an outstanding film - our panel of industry experts absolutely loved it. Very very well done to get 1st Prize out of over 1000 films!

Congratulations to the fantastic Year 11 team, who won Best Film in the 10 Shot Film Award for Years 10–12! Competing against 150 schools, over 10,000 students, and more than 1,000 films, their short film ‘The Imaginary’ stood out for its creativity and storytelling. The film will be screened at The Walt Disney Company offices in Hammersmith, a wonderful recognition of their talent and hard work 👏🎬
