Meet Zak, one of our extraordinary Richmond upon Thames College students! 🎮

Originally from Lebanon, Zak studied English Literature, Film Studies and Media Studies, embracing the freedom, support and opportunities he found at college.

Alongside working hard in the classroom, Zak became president of the popular Dungeons & Dragons club, where he found a community and made lifelong friends.

With ambitions to build a career in the games industry, Zak has now progressed to university to study Games Design and Development, while continuing to develop his own writing and worldbuilding projects.

Meet Sophia, one of our extraordinary Richmond upon Thames College students! ✨

Since beginning her college journey in 2024, Travel and Tourism student Sophia has transformed in confidence.

Once reserved in the classroom, Sophia has found her voice, made new friends and embraced college life through extracurricular activities and the support of her tutors.

She now has her sights set on a future career as a train driver or conductor and encourages others to believe in themselves and what they can achieve.

We're proud to see our Section Manager for Maths,Noreen Tousif, featured by the Education Endowment Foundation, sharing her experience of taking part in the Can-Do Maths pilot programme. The programme supports GCSE Maths resit students to build confidence, resilience and a more positive mindset towards learning.

In her blog, Noreen reflects on how small changes in classroom practice helped students become more willing to tackle challenges, learn from mistakes and engage more positively with maths.

We're delighted to once again celebrate the incredible achievement of A-Level student, Yuto!

Yuto was recognised as one of the UK's highest-performing A-Level Computer Science students, earning a place in Netcraft's Top 100 AQA A-Level Computer Science Students for 2026. As part of this outstanding accomplishment, he received a cash prize and an exclusive invitation to a Netcraft Office Open Day.

Yuto's success doesn't stop there. He also achieved an exceptional three A* grades across all of his A-Levels, reflecting his talent, commitment and hard work throughout his studies. Congratulations, Yuto, and we wish you every success as you begin the next chapter of your journey at university! 🎓

Meet Lucy, one of our extraordinary Richmond upon Thames College students! 👩‍🍳

A Jack Petchey and Student Award winner, Lucy is known by her peers and teachers for her hard work and commitment.

While studying Professional Cookery, Lucy overcame challenges, built her skills and gained valuable industry experience. Through her tutor’s connections, she completed work experience with celebrity chef Lawrence Keogh, which led to a job offer at his pub in Thames Ditton.

Now, Lucy plans to gain as much experience as possible through work, apprenticeships and travel, with ambitions to one day work alongside top chefs in an acclaimed restaurant.
