NEW BSMA LECTURE SERIES
We are delighted to have launched our new lecture series, open to everyone (free for BSMA members).
We started on Sunday 19 September with an inspirational & informative talk by Hannah Biss, Chair of the British Suzuki Music Association, her sister Rosie & their mother Maggie. The talk was entitled SOUND OF MY CHILDHOOD: THE SUZUKI FAMILY ACROSS GENERATIONS. It was wonderful to get together & hear how one mother’s decision to start lessons with the Suzuki Method created three Suzuki children who in turn became musicians, Suzuki parents & Suzuki teachers, who have remained connected to the Suzuki community through the years. Over 100 people registered for the talk. Huge thanks to the Biss family!
Please make a note of the dates for the next lectures, 7pm on
- 17 October,
- 21 November,
- 19 December.
The lecture on 17 October will be 'Secrets of Successful Practice: Communication is Key' delivered by Kimberley Wong.
How to ask the right questions: to yourself as a parent or teacher, to the child and between teacher and parent. How do the words you use as a teacher or parent model and shape yours and the child’s experience?

The November talk will be delivered by Dr Kate Einarson, on the Suzuki Method & developing mind. Dr Einarson is a behavioural scientist & knowledge translation specialist.
