Ready for another exciting week ahead! ✨

Our children will be diving into busy builders play, exploring dinosaur worlds through imaginative and sensory experiences, creating with magnet tiles, and expressing themselves through large-scale painting. We’ll also be enjoying our own playdough and building confidence and coordination with obstacle course balancing.

So many opportunities for learning, development, and skill-building and all led by the children and filled with fun every step of the way 💛

The children travelled by bus to our local library, building confidence and independence, before exploring a world full of stories. They spent time browsing, sharing books together, discovering old favourites and choosing new ones to enjoy.

Each child selected a book to bring back to nursery, a special moment that helps nurture ownership, excitement, and a lifelong love of reading 📚

Experiences like these help bring stories to life and show our children that books can take them anywhere ✨

Open Afternoon 🌟

Join us on Friday 24th April from 1–3pm for a wonderful opportunity to experience the magic of FRS Kindergarten.

From September 2026 we are re-launching as FRS Nursery: extending our hours to 8am - 5.30pm and opening 47 weeks per year.

Families are warmly invited to explore our nursery environment, meet some of our fantastic teachers, and enjoy an afternoon where children can play, discover, and settle into the space.

Parents will have plenty of time to ask questions and get a real feel for our community.

Families are welcome to head downstairs afterwards to enjoy a coffee and cake at Betty’s Bike, soak up the joyful atmosphere and meet other families; ready to join Kuddle-Up Shabbat at 4.15pm.

This week at we’ve been celebrating British Science Week 🔬✨

Our curious young scientists explored a variety of hands-on experiments, testing their ideas, observing exciting chemical reactions, and discovering new scientific language along the way. From bubbling mixtures to fascinating changes, the children were fully engaged in questioning, predicting, and exploring the world around them.

We love seeing their curiosity grow as they investigate, experiment, and learn through play. 🌱🧪

✨ Exploring light and dark ✨

This week the children have been investigating shadows, reflections and light, using light tables, torches, metallic materials and our dark den to see how light changes what we see. 🌗💡

Through play, they’ve discovered new language, curiosity and wonder, noticing shiny reflections, creating shadows and exploring how light bounces and glows. 🌟

A magical mix of science, creativity and imagination 💫

Forest adventures at Coldfall Woods 🌳✨
This morning we whittled sticks, explored along the river, collected colourful leaves, looked for squirrels, climbed trees, and shared warm hot chocolate together. A day full of curiosity, fun, and connection with nature 🍃☕️🌿

✨ The magic of fireworks ✨
This week we have brought Bonfire Night to life by. gathering around our own campfire, warming hot chocolate in a pan, creating firework-inspired art and mark making, and role playing with planks to build our own fires. We ended today with some special, magical sparklers ✨🔥🎆

🍂 We went on a beautiful autumn walk today! The children loved spotting all the colours and signs of autumn, golden leaves, pinecones and crunchy paths beneath our feet. Such a lovely outing full of curiosity and wonder! 🍁

Over the next few weeks we’ll be exploring all things autumn, from crunchy leaves and warm colours to pumpkins and cosy soup making. 🧡
We’ll be sharing some of our favourite stories too, including The Leaf Thief, Leaf Man and Sweep, as we watch the season change all around us. 🌰🍃🥣
