Over the past two weeks, Archway Day Nursery has been full of fun, excitement and learning!

The children took part in our very own Olympic Games, enjoying races, obstacle courses, ball games and lots of exciting challenges. We also had a wonderful week of experiments, where the children explored, made predictions and discovered how things work.

From our youngest babies to our older children, everyone got involved, tried something new and had lots of fun along the way.

At Archway Day Nursery, all the children explored everyday life through exciting, hands-on activities that helped them understand the world around them. Through role play in the market, in the flower shop, and at the ice cream shop, they discovered how people buy, sell, and care for the things we use every day. We talked about making healthy food choices, keeping germs away with good handwashing habits, and simple ways to look after our bodies. They also enjoyed water and sand play, investigating how different materials move, mix, and change.

June has been a busy and enjoyable month, filled with a range of exciting experiences for the children at Archway Day Nursery.

We spent time learning about ancient civilizations and discovering how people lived long ago. We also explored the five senses through hands-on activities, using sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste to better understand the world around us.

Whether investigating different textures, enjoying the outdoors, or sharing stories and ideas with friends, every day brought new opportunities to explore and learn.

The children enjoyed learning about people who help our community, dressing up in different roles and discovering how they care for others. We spent time outdoors watering plants in the park, saying goodbye to our butterflies as we released them together, and keeping cool during the warm weather with lots of water play. The babies especially enjoyed arts and crafts, painting fruits and leaves and exploring different textures and colours.

Over the past two weeks, the children at Archway Day Nursery have been busy having fun and learning through play. From water play, rice, and gloop, the under-twos learned about different textures and how materials can change and feel in different ways. The over-twos learned about becoming more responsible and caring for small living things, using gentle hands and showing kindness. We also learned how to express our feelings and support each other in our play.

These last few weeks, the children enjoyed learning about the butterfly life cycle by caring for caterpillars and watching them grow into chrysalises, as we wait for the butterflies to emerge. We have also been busy planting and exploring nature while learning about birds, flowers, and forests. The fun continued in the park, where the children enjoyed water play, dancing sessions, parachute games, and lots of active outdoor play together.
