Pre-reg Ofsted childminder in Tanfield Lea, Stanley. Vacancies from Sept 2023

05/07/2023

In 2016 I applied to study Primary Education at Northumbria University and I was accepted onto the course!

However, after attempting the QTS maths test twice and failing both times, my confidence was knocked so I gave up and went on to study a course which I wasn't exactly excited about but I still managed to graduate.

Fast forward to 2023 and they've now stopped the QTS tests so I applied to do a PGCE with QTS on a whim..

Today I had my interview and have managed to secure a place. Therefore I will no longer be able to offer childminding services.

Thank you to all who have supported and made enquiries. I wish you the best of luck in finding a suitable placement.

Thanks,

Sarah x

Forever learning ๐Ÿ’–

๐Ÿฅฐ

๐Ÿ’š As a parent, it's natural to worry about whether your child feels lonely or whether they have enough friends to play with - and especially so if your child particularly enjoys their own company and often chooses to play alone!

But there are SO many crucial skills and abilities that little people can efficiently develop by playing solo! โฌ‡๏ธ

1. Self-Discovery and Creativity: Independent play allows children to explore their interests, discover their preferences, and express their creativity. It encourages them to think independently, make choices, and develop their unique ideas and imagination.

2. Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: When engaged in independent play, children often encounter challenges and obstacles. They learn to solve problems, make decisions, and think critically - because nobody else is around to do it for them! This fosters their critical thinking skills, resilience, and confidence in their own abilities.

3. Language and Communication Skills: Independent play allows children to engage in self-talk, narrate their activities, and engage in imaginative play scenarios. This gives them an opportunity to test out new words and knowledge without concerns about getting them wrong, allows them to expand their vocabulary, and practice their storytelling abilities.

4. Concentration and Focus: During independent play, children can concentrate and focus on their chosen activities without external distractions. This helps improve their attention span, ability to sustain focus, and develop personal interests.

5. Emotional Regulation and Self-Reliance: Independent play provides children with an opportunity to regulate their emotions and manage their feelings. They learn to entertain themselves, find inner sources of joy and contentment, and develop a sense of self-reliance and independence.

Children should be free to engage and explore, to have an environment that follows their interests and current schema preferences (biological drivers) and allows them to consolidate and extend their own learning.

I hope to provide an engaging environment for all children to be creative and be curious!

Children are naturally curious and playful beings and the more you can promote that, the more relaxed they are, the higher their wellbeing, and therefore the greater their learning outcomes can be ๐Ÿฅฐ

DBS is at certificate printing stage so hopefully ๐Ÿคž my OfSted visit won't be far behind ๐Ÿฅฐ

Children can explore, create and imagine in all the senses of those words and assign their own purpose and meaning to the objects. This type of play is called 'loose parts play!

Loose parts create endless possibilities and invite creativity. For example, if a child picks up a rock and starts to play, most likely that rock can become anything the child wants it to be. Imagination, creativity, curiosity, desire, and need are the motivation of loose parts.

๐Ÿโญ๏ธWhy choose a childminderโญ๏ธ๐Ÿ

Children thrive in a safe and secure environment where they feel valued and loved. They benefit from consistent care from one person who knows their individual needs and interests.

Often childminders look after children from babyhood through to secondary school, giving them a great sense of security and continuity.

A childminder educates and works the same as a nursery.

We follow the same EYFS registered with Ofsted and inspected the same. childminders work on a smaller scale which allows us to use each child's interests to learn through play we take the children out to explore and learn in different environments, offer flexible childcare hours
