Kids Employability Skills

The children are now back at school and we hope that they are having a positive start to the new academic year.

The children learn a variety of essential skills at school that contribute to their overall development. These skills can be broadly categorised into academic, social, emotional, and practical skills.

We will start exploring some of these!

This is a great example of getting the children to think about how they utilise a certain skill in their life but also at work on a work experience placement ❤️

It’s careers week, and together the children explored the essential skills and qualities in different job roles. The children showcased different outfits with us and had to think about who would wear that outfit and which tasks and responsibilities they would have.

Well done to all of the Year 3 students who took part in our activity and enjoyed the Kidstime2play author visit.

Do your kids know what job they would like to do when you are older?

Talking about how they are, how their day has been and what’s on their mind as part of everyday family life shows your child that you’re interested in them and want to listen. It also supports them to practise thinking and talking about their feelings, helping them to get to know themselves and what they need.

Well done to all of the students who completed their SATS examinations today!

Most students have been working hard and parents have been also working just as hard supporting their children with their studies:

📗Helping them study
📙Getting a tutor to support
📘Keeping them healthy
📗Supporting their mental wellbeing
📙Ensuring they get to school on time or for early morning SATS booster classes

It’s been a personal journey for me too! Iv done all of the above and felt like I doing SATS examinations myself!

Kids Employability is all about encouraging educators, carers and children to develop skills.

There will be some skills which get developed during childhood automatically. Why? This could be because the parents encourage certain skills they which their child to work on. Another example maybe that the child learns certain skills through social intersection with others I.e via play.

The 📋 could go on!

We are encouraging parents to think about the skills your child needs to develop further and think of ways of how you can support in that skills development.

Critical thinking happens when children draw on their existing knowledge and experience, as well as on their problem-solving skills, to do things like: ⭐️Compare and contrast. ⭐️Explain why things happen. ⭐️Evaluate ideas and form opinions. ⭐️Understand the perspectives of others.

Young children are learning to develop this skills at nursery and primary school. We also hope that this skill is being encouraged in the home via play and meaningful conversation.

This skills is very important is later years for high school, college, university and in the workplace!

It’s half term! Young kids enjoy dressing up and getting into character!
