☀️ What an incredible day at the GNSMAT Summer Fair! ☀️

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for a fantastic, fun-filled day. From the exciting stalls and games to the wonderful community spirit, it was a massive success and a truly fun day for all!

✨ Staff Wellbeing in Action at GNSMAT ✨
With temperatures soaring this week, we wanted to show our appreciation for our dedicated team who continue to go above and beyond for our students.

Today, all GNSMAT staff were treated to ice creams to help them stay cool and take a refreshing break during the heatwave. 🍦☀️

Looking after the wellbeing of our staff is central to our culture, especially during challenging weather conditions. Thank you to everyone for your continued hard work and positive spirit!

We were blessed to have our children and staff take part in an all day Shabad Jaap & Kirtan across Guru Nanak Sikh Academy and Nanaksar Primary, remembering the supreme sacrifice of Dhan Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj and reflecting on Guru Sahib Ji’s teachings of resilience, compassion, humility, and seva.

Our GNSA Primary and Nanaksar Primary pupils also lovingly held a Shabeel after school, in honour of Dhan Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj, sharing the values of kindness, selfless service, and Sarbat Da Bhala with the community

☀️ URGENT: School Schedule Changes (Tue 23rd - Thu 25th June) ☀️

Due to forecast temperatures exceeding 35°C, we are adapting our school days this week to keep everyone safe. Morning arrival is normal and mandatory for all pupils.

Here are the key arrangements:

🕒 Dismissal Times
GNSA Primary Phase: 12:00 pm

Nanaksar Primary: 12:15 pm

Years 7, 8 & 9: 12:30 pm (Must leave site promptly)

Years 10 & 12: 3:00 pm (Normal time — lessons will be in air-conditioned rooms)

📋 Key Details
Lunch: Only pupils entitled to means-tested Free School Meals will be provided with a lunch to take home. Years 7–9 must collect theirs from the canteen at 12:30 pm.

Afternoon Learning: Primary and Years 7–9 will have afternoon activities set via Google Classroom.

Friday: Intended to be a normal school day for all.

✉️ Emergency Childcare / Exceptional Circumstances
If you absolutely cannot make alternative arrangements and need your child to stay on-site for the full day, you must email the school office immediately with your child's full name and class:

We are reaching out to our fantastic network of parents, carers, and local businesses! We are currently gathering prizes for our Grand Raffle at this year's Summer Fair. 🎟️✨

Can you help us give our pupils the best resources possible? We are looking for: 🛍️ Businesses: Vouchers, hampers, or products (we’ll tag and promote you to all our families!). 🎁 Parents: Any brand-new, unwanted items, toys, or gifts you can spare.

All funds raised go straight into purchasing fantastic new school resources for our pupils. 🏫💡

An exciting day at school today! We were absolutely delighted to welcome our local MP, John McDonnell, to visit School Parliament pupils at both GNSA Primary and Nanaksar.

He gave our pupils a fascinating look into life as an MP and took the time to answer some brilliant (and tough!) questions from our pupils. Thank you for inspiring the next generation of leaders!
