Let’s get kids moving in English! Discover 3 ideas that get kids moving and jumping whilst practising their English! And for most of them you only need flashcards 😄🇬🇧
The best way to learn is by moving and having fun and using English in the spontaneous way 😍 the free following games are for kids in cycle 3, if you’re looking for some easy games I did another post for cycle two 🇬🇧
And this game kids have to form a line one behind the other, and the teacher will ask a question and kids will have to jump left for an answer or right for another answer. For example, on the topic of back to school, the teacher could ask, do you like maths? Kids who like maths will jump on the right, and kids who don’t like maths will jump on the left!
You can use all sorts of topics and questions and you can even ask the question again each time so that kids answer yes I do and no, I don’t 😄
In this game kids I asked to think about the most appropriate type of clothing for each season or weather. Kids working groups and each group gets a season card or a weather card. On the table across the classroom layout multiple flashcards about clothes and Accessories. Kids have to figure out your appropriate clothing they need for their Weather card and run one at a time to find the correct flashcard and bring it back to the group! For example, if kids have a sun, they can find a T-shirt short shorts or a hat!
Once all the kids have found the corresponding flashcards, they get to make a sentence with their flashcard : in summer, I wear a T-shirt / when it’s raining, I wear a raincoat.
You can also give kids a character with clothes and they need to find the corresponding flashcards for each item. And to make it more chaotic, you can spread the flashcards across multiple tables! 😂
This game requires a bit of preparation! Take 12 chairs and place them in the circle. this game is played in two phases. Divide the classroom into two groups, as this is to form a clock you need 12 kids in each group. Extra kids can be used to invent different times in phase 2.
Give one group 12 sheets of blue paper on the which you write the hours.
