Though I’ve been quiet, the work continues behind the scenes. From training professionals, teachers, and parents, to offering resources and signposting relevant services—this mission never stops.
The recent buzz around Netflix’s Adolescence has sparked important conversations. It’s still deeply concerning how many adults—educators and parents alike—miss the subtle (and not-so-subtle) signs of bullying, exploitation, and the impact of social media on self-image.
Let’s keep learning. Let’s keep asking questions. And most importantly, let’s keep protecting our young people from paths they should never have to walk.

Interesting event regarding the criminalisation of women. The drama performance really hit home for some of the women.
There are many factors that need to be professionally unpicked and finding way to overcome these barriers. Advocate, promote and challenge ideas in those spaces of power and influence.

I had the pleasure of providing some training recently, to discuss what happens in trafficking.
Quite a few professionals and the general public, still believe that trafficking is an international issue.
The below is an except from an article detailing the allegations surrounding Andrew Tate. We have seen not only many young people look to him as a role model, but older adults as well. Stay alert.

Had such a lovely session with some young people discussing Health Relationships. It's vital that we teach our young the difference between toxicity, abuse and unacceptable behaviour.

Everybody will experience some form of mental health issues in their lifetime. For some, this will go beyond a few days and will need as much support as possible. Without support, the effects of mental health will increase thus making it easier for a person to be exploited.
Do you know how many different factors can be attributed to mental health?
*Hint - Bereavement, social isolation and Childhood trauma are in this list.

Over the pandemic, we have seen a rise in mental heath matters, especially among men. It has been proven that men are less likely to speak about their struggles and submit to more pressure than they can bare. This vulnerability makes it easier to be exploited. Be aware that adult as well as children can be victims.

Whether is be social media, television or people that surround a person, if they are using that person for their own personal benefit/gain, that is Exploitation!
Imagine trying to deal with mental health struggles and feel that the ones that surround you are trying to help, but in reality they are trying to benefit off of your struggles. People with mental health struggles deserve to have compassion and understanding. It can be hard for one to differentiate between a helping hand and exploitation. Let increase our knowledge around this issue.

There are always discussions about mental health, but do you understand how a person can be exploited due to this vulnerability?
I will be highlighting several point over the next few days to discuss this topic. My focus will be on males who are underrepresented in this area due to unreported matters as well as stigmas attached.
