Work has begun on my pieces for Cake International 👀

This year, I’m taking part in the Sugar Screams exhibit, and the CakeWalk.

There’s LOADS of work to do, and I’m currently surrounded by bits of wood, fabric, beads, expanding foam, polystyrene, moulds, tools, clay, plaster, boxes of sugarpaste, modelling chocolate and colours, AND I’m prepping everything for this weekends D’licious Magazine CakeAway!
I’m sawing, sewing, sculpting, modelling, moulding, plastering, carving, glueing, painting, and everything in between! 🙈

Please bear with me whilst I steadily drown in work 🫠😂

It may take slightly longer than usual to reply to any messages for a few weeks, but I WILL get back to you when I can.

Please also remember that I’m teaching this weekend at the CakeAway retreat, and will reply to everyone when I’m back on Tuesday.

What do you make when it’s your friends wedding anniversary and she’s already an awesome cake maker?

Whatever you want. She’ll love it no matter what! 😂

Victoria White Cake Design and her amazing husband Adam, celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary, and we surprised them last weekend!

Originally, we couldn’t make it to the party, but a quick last minute shuffle of plans, and D’licious Magazine and I coordinated the surprise.

This Lambeth heart cake is my very popular Biscoff cake, decorated with super smooth vanilla buttercream.

Four of us share a tattoo, so I made sure we all had a contribution to this cake.

-The gorgeous Debbie Lock Sugar Floral Design made a white Rose
(which also came to Wembley with us for a Bon Jovi concert).
-I added two silver Steve figures
(if you know, you know).
-And Kelly from D’licious mag added one single black sprinkle, which is hilariously the missing dot from all of our tattoos
(they should say “cake friends” in Morse code, but a dot ‘washed off’ so they say “cake friendi”).

Happy 25 years of marriage, Victoria and Adam.
You’re both such wonderful people, and we wish you many MANY more years of love and happiness 🥰🥰🥰

This weekend, I had the honour of creating this two tier cake for a wedding vows renewal and christening celebration.

On the bottom tier is our gorgeous Biscoff cake, and the top tier is luscious red velvet, both covered with white chocolate ganache and finished with Lambeth piped vanilla buttercream in pastel pink and white.

Erm, excuse me. How cute are these toppers?!!!

When the one and only Utilities Uncle, Nemish K Mehta, dropped me a phone call to place an order, I knew it was going to be special 🥰

His daughter was turning 26, and they wanted a showstopper!
This pastel purple Lambeth cake is made with eggless chocolate sponge, milk chocolate ganache filling, chocolate buttercream, vanilla piping, and diddy hand painted Sweet Success modelling chocolate toppers.
Absolutely adorable!

Nemish is one of those amazing people who will randomly pop up on your phone, just to cheer you on and make you feel like a million bucks.
He’s everyone’s personal cheerleader, and somehow knows when you need it the most.

He always has time for people, is one of those genuine souls who doesn’t ask for anything in return, and every chat with him feels like the best conversation you’ve had in a long time with a close friend.

His recent videos with his daughter are brilliant!

Four years ago today, this cake helped kickstart my love of all things structure. 🥰

He went viral on tiktok and pulled in over 2.2 million views 🤯 spurring me on to create more structures.
Thanks to this cake, I now teach others how to make gravity defying cakes! Madness!

As a cake artist, when you’re given a brief, you do your best to incorporate every element of that brief. Sometimes, it’s difficult to fit everything in, but you do your best.

Well this one was easy!
A massive bottle of green Tabasco, with piccalilli and capers on toast.
Nailed it! 😂

This is all carrot cake, with a little structure inside to keep the Tabasco bottle at an angle without it falling over, covered in sugarpaste, and finished with modelling chocolate piccalilli.
The label is freehand painted using dust colours and lemon extract.

Thank you Chris for giving me such an awesome brief to work with! I had so much fun with this one!

It’s been a while since I took part in an online collab, so I really enjoyed making this piece for the humanimals - international sugarart collaboration.

Say hi to Felicity Feline!
This free spirit has taken a moment to shut out the sounds of the bustling city around her, and just get lost in the music.

She sits at just 8 inches tall, and is made entirely from Sweet Success modelling chocolate, including her ripped faded jeans, floral pink headphones and tousled hair.

Each curl was individually rolled, tapered and twisted before being carefully placed onto her head to create almost a wolf cut hair do.
She’s sculpted and textured by hand, and coloured with petal dusts and a hint of edible gold.
Her piercings are a combination of gold sprinkles, and thin gold chains (not edible).

Isn’t she a cutie! 🥰

SEVEN HUNDRED!!!! 🤯

The shoe box and shoe are all vanilla sponge with strawberry jam, the box is covered with The SUGAR PASTE and the shoe is covered with Sweet Success modelling chocolate to get all those little details in.

I worked through the night to beat the heat, crawled into bed at 6am, and realised I needed to be up again at 7:30am for deliveries and collections 🫠

When you get an invite from ML Bespoke Cakes to go to Bake Fest , it’s rude to say no, and even more rude to show up empty handed!

Here’s a ‘little’ something I threw together yesterday. (Yes little. 14” x 4” x 6” tall is little….for me)

Chocolate sponge cake, filled with layers of vanilla mascarpone buttercream, strawberry conserve, milk chocolate spread, fresh strawberries, and strawberry granola for added crunch.
All covered in white chocolate ganache, and vanilla mock Swiss buttercream, piped in traditional overpiped Lambeth style.

Inspired by Wedgwood Jasperware pottery, because I’m a little obsessed and may be doing something EPIC later this year with the same theme. Shhhh…. You heard nothing 👀

We are off for a well earned break!

The mixer has been unplugged, the turntable shelved, and the oven is off!

We’re home Friday, but we’ll be open on Saturday for collections, so don’t panic if you’ve placed an order. I promise your cakes will still be ready on time.
