This is a reminder for all parents and carers that after the Summer holidays, Qurtubah classes will be restarting from this Saturday, 3rd September 2022 at 9.30am for Weekends AM Sessions, and 2.00pm for Weekends PM Sessions.

Weekday Evening Sessions will be starting on Monday 5th September at 5.00pm.

We look forward to welcoming all our students, old and new, to a new academic year. And we look forward to working with our parents and carers to support our young students to achieve their best with their Qur'an and Islamic Studies.📚✏️📖

*QURTUBAH QIRAAT COMPETITION 2022 RESULTS*

Alhamdulillah we had a successful round for the finals of our Qurtubah Qiraat Competition 2022.

The winners were as follows:

We would like to say a big jazakumullahu khairan to all our parents for their hard work in supporting their children for the competition. We would also like to say well done to ALL the students of Qurtubah for trying their best. Furthermore, we would like to thank all our teachers for preparing our students and improving the quality of recitation at Qurtubah Institute.

Qurtubah Qiraat Competition 2022!!

Alhamdulillah the students at Qurtubah Institute have been working extra hard with their Qur'an recitation and Tajweed over the last couple of weeks for the annual Qiraat Competition.

We have had class competitions and have chosen winners from every class and age group to participate in the Final Round of Qurtubah Institute's Qiraat Competition 2022!

Ramadan Mubarak to all our students, parents, carers and staff!

Alhamdulillah we have, once again, reached the blessed month of Ramadan. Alhamdulillah that Allah (swt) has blessed us again. We know many were here last year but are not with us this year. May Allah (swt) grant us the ability to work towards reaching Jannatul Firdous and make this month fruitful for us. May He grant us His Mercy and Forgiveness and accept our acts of worship, regardless of how small or big they are.

Alhamdulillah! Qurtubah Institute has been able to bring out its first Ramadan Journal (for the girls only this year as its too flowery for the boys 😉, though everyone is welcome to use it). The journal was designed by a young sister who will no doubt gain immense rewards for her efforts. We hope all those who have a copy benefit from it.

We have also produced a Ramadan Booklet with duas and information, as well as a Ramadan Chart for all our students. There are also work within the booklet produced by the students themselves! We hope that all students, boys and girls, big and small will benefit from it, as well as their families.

We wish all our families a wonderful Ramadan! Please remember eachother in your duas.

In our Autumn Newsletter, Qurtubah Institute set our new competition on Isa (alaihis salaam). If you haven't yet submitted your entry, see below for the details.

In that newsletter, we told you some things about Isa (alaihis salaam). And we are sure that you have learnt different things about Jesus at school. Now, we wanted you to tell us what you know!

Can you create a poster or a poem about the Isa (as)? Or how about a comparison between what Islam says about Isa (as) and Christianity says about Jesus?

Use your imagination and creativity and tell us what you know about Isa (as).

Qurtubah Summer School ~ Day 5

Creating the Arabic letters from play-doh was a success as usual! The young children enjoyed the creative lesson of pronouncing the letters correctly and creating them out of play-doh.

Arts and Crafts took us to writing our names in Arabic on our Star badges, designing our kaleidoscope and completing our weaving baskets 🧺.

Children learnt about the steps of wudu, importance of dua and the 4 books of Allah.

The five pillars were constructed as a mosque and children were taught how these pillars hold up our religion.

Class 4 learnt about the importance of tahaarah and how it holds the key to Salat and inshaallah Jannah!

Alhamdulillah, the children had a wonderful day of Qur'an, arty activities and praying Salat in Jama'ah!

New lesson learnt today by our young Muslims: salatul Zuhr is a quiet Salat 🕌

In Sha Allah, Qurtubah Institute is planning to run their annual Summer School this year. This fun-packed 2 weeks is an opportunity for young children to enjoy learning Islam and what it means to be a Muslim in a fun and creative way.

Monday-Thursday (2 weeks)
 
Timing: 11am – 4pm (1-2pm lunch – packed lunches need to be provided)
 
Age categories: 4-10yrs Boys, 4-15yrs Girls
 
Cost: £60 non-Qurtubah students (sibling discounts available)
£45 Qurtubah Students / Siblings £40 (cash only)

Qurtubah Qiraat Competition Final 2021

Alhamdulillah, the Qurtubah Qiraat Competition had a wonderful start in Ramadan 2021. Children from all classes and branches practised and participated. We had the 1st rounds and then the 2nd rounds, with the finalists being selected by the internal judges.

Children worked hard and participated to the best of their abilities mashaallah!

Saturday 26th June 2021 was an opportunity for all our finalists to show off their recitations, azaans and speeches to their parents, teachers and peers.

Alhamdulillah, after much deliberations, the external judges decided on winners for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each age category. They are as follows:

The children have enjoyed the Eid celebrations this year following the pandemic and many restrictions that we have had to follow. Alhamdulillah we were able to enjoy the day with food, nasheeds and party games! 🥳

We also had some time to reflect on the blessings that we had and have continously in celebrating peacefully. Our thoughts were with those less fortunate ones who were unable to celebrate Eid this year.

Celebrating the successes of our children (however big or small they are) make them feel like they have reached a milestone!

We should make our young students feel that their success with the Qur'an is a success in this dunya and more so in the Hereafter. Hence, it is more the reason to celebrate and make them feel proud of their achievements 👏. Thus, at Qurtubah Institute, we celebrate these milestones with a bang 🎊🎁😁.
