This morning our Development Manager, Hannah took 3 Catering students from Waltham Forest College to visit Jason Atherton's two restaurants, Little Social & Pollen Street Social in Mayfair.
As curious and eager learners, the students asked great questions, got to see all areas of the kitchens in both restaurants, meet the chefs and best of all - ALL 3 were offered work experience in the new year!
Getting a real insight into the careers young people want to get into is the crux of our Mentoring Programme and seeing Michelin Star Restaurants and their catering set-up is an incredible opportunity.
HiH would like to thank Head Chef Frankie van Loo and everyone at Little Social and Pollen Street social for their time and for supporting the students.

And just like that it’s November and time for our next monthly inclusive dance sessions on Monday 7th at the Leyton Children and Family Centre, 215 Queen’s Road, E17 8PJ
Our creative sessions explore the inclusive dance syllabus IRIS created by Stopgap Dance Company
Participants learn dance skills and develop their own creativity and sometimes we use props and imagery to support this creative learning experience. These photos from our BOOST project show the young people using scarves to encourage swirling, floating and balancing movements inspired by falling autumn leaves.
If you’d like to have a go why not come and join us for our monthly workshops, no experience is necessary and all disabled and non-disabled children and young people and their siblings are welcome.

Pink Floyd released their "Ummagumma" double album on Nov 7, 1969. Most generally now pan the album — primarily for the disc 2 studio experiment.
"Live" disc 1 remains a favorite. That same night, Pink Floyd's setlist for the receptive crowd at London's Waltham Forest College duplicated most of those live "Ummagumma" tracks.

Last night's Extraordinary Council meeting featured tributes to HM Queen Elizabeth II from Leader of the Council Grace Williams, Leader of the Opposition Emma Best, and Mayor Karen Bellamy alongside local faith and humanist leaders. 96 small trees were distributed to attendees, one for each year of the Queen's life, thanks to Wood Street Walls Waltham Forest College London Design Festival and William Morris Design Line.
At the meeting, a Memorial Garden in tribute of the late queen was announced by Cllr Grace Williams: "We will create a new public garden in honour of the late queen in Chestnut Fields, just behind the Town Hall. It will be a place of calm, a place for residents to reflect, a place to take in some peace and quiet – I know it will have a special meaning for so many of us. We are currently hoping we may be able to open the garden as soon as 2023 and we will publish more details as soon as they are confirmed. I would also like to thank everyone who signed one of our Books of Condolence or came to the Extraordinary Council meeting to pay their respects to HM Queen Elizabeth II. Her memory will last for many, many years to come.”
