We are delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Lisa Paul, a talented Plumbing apprentice who has brought home top honours in the highly competitive Plumbing Skills Competition hosted at the Royal Lancaster Hotel.

Lisa, with the support of tutor Rennie Llewellyn, demonstrated exceptional skill, determination and precision to overcome competition from London colleges, young engineers and university talent.

The event is organised by the The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and The Society of Public Health Engineers (SoPHE), with support from Rennie Llewellyn plumbing tutor at Waltham Forest College.

This is a proud moment for Waltham Forest College, showcasing our commitment to excellence and our ability to nurture top talent in vocational education. Congratulations to Lisa for her exceptional accomplishment!

Today’s guest speaker, Terry Duffy, Strategic Growth Partnership Lead at ACAS, delivered an insightful session to our Criminology & Law students, covering the different types of ADR, the key factors and considerations in different scenarios, and the application, analysis, and evaluation of relevant principles. He brought the discussion to life with real-world examples and case studies.

Focusing on statutory conciliation, arbitration, and mediation, Terry highlighted how mediation has grown in popularity over recent years. As the lead for ACAS's accredited Certificate in Internal Workplace Mediation training, he provided valuable insights into this increasingly important form of dispute resolution. 🙌

We had a great taster session with Norlington School for Boys today!

They had opportunities to make their own mocktails in our training restaurant, learn about how cars run and understand logic gates for digital circuitry.

Last week, our students had an incredible hands-on experience, thanks to a collaboration with Tide Construction!🙌

Huge shoutout to Tide Project Manager Richard Kennedy, Health & Safety Manager Marta Vuletic, and DP Brickwork's Costel George Iova, expert Foreman Supervisor, for guiding our learners and teaching them how to build double-skin cavity walls - from setting up damp-proof courses to insulation, forming cavities, and even fire brick techniques. 🔥
