Since the spring equinox on Monday - when the sun passes the equator moving from the southern to the northern hemisphere ☀️ - it feels like Spring is in the air.

Today we made some pressed flower sun catchers and then popped out to plant a community orchard using some left over fruit trees from 🌲🌳

For one heavenly hour we were immersed. The kids were in their element digging, planting and watering the trees (and some even gave the trees names) 💖 embracing the earth with our hands and creating a nutrient filled home for the trees and their roots.

And we were very lucky to spend this hour with my lovely pal .bowen.73 who bought all her tree wisdom to help the kids plant these fruit trees outside where we attend Isleworth

Happy holi festival of colours!

We celebrated this slightly late as we were busy last week but today we had fun throwing colourful flour!

The holi festival which marks the last full-moon day of the lunar month celebrates the beginning of spring and the victory of good over evil.

Everyday is an adventure!

Nature is inspiring, nourishing, and exciting! We have so much fun exploring the joys of nature everyday and nothing makes the kids happier than the freedom to explore, the stimulation of visiting new places and the joyful feeling of being outdoors in nature where their learning flows naturally 🌳 🍃 ☀️ ☔️ 🌸

Sometimes I’m so busy running around with the kids, fetching snacks and drinks, playing, showing them things and not to mention dealing with any unsettled feelings, that I forget to stop, breathe and appreciate how lucky I am to to witness moments like this.

My ethos is about getting outside as much as possible to share so many of the moments that nature blesses us with and live our fullest and most present lives. Growing and learning together every day. We are lucky to build so many memories like this one. Time outdoors stimulates us thus encouraging good sleep, appetite and regulation (if you know me you know I’m obsessed with good alignment 💫) and at the same time creates a harmonious sense of calm. It also in my experience builds a strong and important resilience.

Therefore I am grateful for every sunrise, every daytime adventure, every play, every moment of laughter, every sunset and especially every siting of the moon and stars.

The research speaks for itself….

‘outdoor learning boosts confidence, social skills, communication, motivation, physical skills, knowledge and understanding…. an increase in children’s self-esteem, self-confidence, ability to work cooperatively and positive attitude to learning’

So many positives, why would we want to live our lives any other way than the way nature intended us to? 🌊🌧🌲☀️ ⭐️🌈❤️ 🌸

Autumn and early winter at our mostly outdoor based childcare. Nature is amazing and I believe it is worth spending as much of our time possible living in the present, enjoying what every place, every opportunity, every ray of sunshine, every rain drop, every frosty morning footstep crunch can bring. How can we learn and grow if we are not exposed to as much of life’s joys, and failures (because it is also important for us to fail in order to grow and learn).

Life is beautiful, live it fully. ❤️
