🌈 Sorting colours with Starlinks! ⭐🩷💜🍂

I usually prefer using these little clicks as a pre-writing activity to develop fine motor skills and finger strength ✍️ But why not get creative and use them for colour sorting, too? 😆💕

One resource, different purposes! Learning can be simple, playful and full of possibilities. 🩷

Autism is not an illness that medication can remove.

Autism is a neurodevelopmental condition, not a disease that needs to be cured.

Medication may help with certain co-occurring difficulties, such as anxiety, ADHD, sleep problems or irritability, when clinically appropriate. However, it does not remove autism itself.

💥Our focus should not be on changing who the child is, but on understanding their individual needs, supporting their communication, promoting emotional and sensory regulation, and helping them develop meaningful life skills.💥

💯🤍 The goal is not to make an autistic child less autistic. It is to help them feel understood, supported and able to thrive. 💙

By touching, looking, comparing and sorting real objects, children begin to understand what belongs together, notice differences and develop early problem-solving skills.
Once these skills become familiar, we can gradually move on to sorting pictures and matching symbols. 🧠🌱
Learning doesn't have to be complicated or expensive. Sometimes, the best resources are already sitting in our kitchen! ❤️

🌈✨ It’s never “just matching”! ✨

Today we matched community helpers 👮‍♀️👩‍⚕️👨‍🚒👷‍♂️ — but there was so much more happening.

For a young learner with a short attention span and sensory processing challenges, matching 2D to 2D is already a valuable skill. But he was also learning to listen, follow an instruction, complete the task and tidy away. 🧠🌱

At first, I prompted, “Put it in the plate.” 🗣️ Then I gradually faded the prompt. In the last two trials, I said nothing — and he independently put it in the plate! 🙌💛

That’s multitasking, receptive language, independence and prompt fading all within one simple activity. 🌟

Small steps today become independent routines tomorrow. 🌱✨

A simple, engaging activity that can support sensory exploration, visual stimulation, fine-motor skills and curiosity. Watch the clay respond to the magnet and turn play into a little science experiment! 💫

Otizmi ortadan kaldıran, “geçiren” veya tedavi eden bir ilaç yoktur.

Ancak bazı durumlarda ilaçlar; yoğun kaygı, obsesif-kompulsif belirtiler, öfke/agresyon, dikkat güçlükleri, uyku sorunları gibi otizme eşlik edebilen belirti ve durumların yönetilmesine yardımcı olabilir.

💡 Yani amaç otizmi tedavi etmek değil, kişinin yaşamını zorlaştıran belirli belirtileri desteklemektir.

GCSE isn’t the only option. 💙

For many autistic and ADHD young people, the traditional GCSE route may not be the right fit — and families need to know that there are other pathways.

Explore options such as:

BTEC • ASDAN • Functional Skills • T Levels • ESOL • Vocational courses • Apprenticeships

The right pathway can help a young person build confidence, independence, practical skills and a future without feeling that they have failed simply because GCSEs weren’t suitable for them.

Families need information, guidance and support to understand the options available. 💗💛🩵
