Next up on my reading list: Awakening the Coach Within by Ankush Jain.

I had been following Ankush for a while, before deciding to join the AJC Coaching Career school.

Ankush stood out for me not only by the powerful way he speaks about transformation and creating meaningful change from a place of authenticity, but also how he consistently demonstrated a massive level of commitment to his own development in service of his work as a transformational coach.

I know how much time, energy, effort and love he has put into creating a book to help coaches grow their businesses with integrity.

I’m really looking forward to diving into it, and I’d love to help spread the word so it reaches the people who will benefit most.

Now I know it just means I’ve outgrown a version of success that no longer fits.

One of my biggest challenges as a mum of three is juggling so many balls at the same time and staying on top of things. There is always something to do! (Especially at this time of the year). I often say - as soon as I take something off my to do list, two more things get added on. And hundreds of WhatsApp messages per day don’t really help either.

But if we are constantly working on getting things done, we are missing our actual life, we miss seeing our children grow up, we miss the little moments that make life enjoyable. If we don’t stop and look up, we miss opportunities to connect with people and we end up running and running with the years passing by. It’s those little moments, hearing our children laugh, slowing down that make life enjoyable.

It is tough to take some time out with so much happening around, but I am asking myself, does everything always have to be 100% perfect? If we decide 80% is good enough, we have 20% of our time freed up 😉.

Do what you can, with what you have in this moment. Just remember, that’s life, and you’re human.

I want to share with you an experience from yesterday that made me think, an example of how valuable it often is to look up and stay open to the world around us.

We are currently travelling in Croatia and I had intended to research restaurants on TripAdvisor for our dinner, as I usually do.

However, when I started chatting with the lady on the sun bed next to us, it turned out that she had been visiting the hotel for the past 20 years. She recommended me a restaurant, a small gem, on a tiny square with fabulous food.

This brief interaction not only heightened my anticipation for the restaurant, but also made me feel energised and it probably saved me 30 minutes of my holiday time.

How much time do we invest in meticulously researching numerous hotels, rental properties, and restaurants before and during our holidays, poring over countless reviews to ensure we secure the very best, at the most affordable rates? And how much time are we actually there, fully present in the moment, enjoying that stunning beach with our loved ones?
