the international student experience is a challengeβ¦
even though it may appear perfect to friends and family back home, being an international student has unique obstacles
we are required to balance extra work commitments, meet family expectations, and adapt to an entirely new sociocultural context
these extra factors can impact our academic work, sense of safety, and connection with our wider campus community
still, it is important that we find strength in the achievement of simply being here
this is an experience that most will not understand, but in time we will be rewarded for our dedication and hard work
