Tam’s Childminding

Operating as usual

When one of your little after school children run out of school clutching something they made for you... you don't get job satisfaction like this anywhere else 🥰🥰

The most gorgeous little beds with actual pull out draws!

Another lovely trip to the farm for our farm project this half term. In conjunction with Highbury Fields Playground and a picnic in the sunshine, a perfect morning. Very happy kids! 😊

It's all go today! And yes, the baby IS having a bath in purple spaghetti. Maybe I should patent the idea? 🤣

Its almost coronation day! Find the hidden coins!

It's spring! (I think...) Despite the weather, it's April nevertheless so we are doing our farm topic. The kids had so much fun with their homemade farm today! And yes, all the weetabix "hay stacks" mysteriously disappeared seconds after this photo was taken... 🤔🤣

It's almost Easter 🐣 ❤

Happy Mother's Day from my 1 year olds 🥰

Couldn't find it anywhere.....🤣🤣

New Years Resolution? TONS more messy play (& mark making) 😄

Excited to be back at work after the Christmas break! I missed the kids! Photo of the lovely Christmas cards they made for their parents.

Picasso Snowmen 🤣🤣

The start òf the Christmas crafts, salt dough icicle decorations

The last of our autumn crafts before we start on our Christmas ones! Can't believe it's that time of year already!!!

The childrens beautiful salt firework paintings

Scooping the creepy crawlys out of jelly...all started out very civilised... everyone (including me) are now in a change of clothes..🤣

So excited for the Halloween party I am doing for all the kids tomorrow. They made this box monster, ready for the beanbag toss 😀

Very happy to announce I got my OFSTED inspection report and I got OUTSTANDING! It's mainly thanks to all the wonderful children I look after which makes me LOVE my job so much! ❤

Love our colourful autumn hedgehogs from the pretty leaves the children collected.

It's officially autumn! Time for beautiful autumn crafts.

Loving being back at work after a long summer away, though saddened by the news of the Queen. The kids made their own Queens in memorial.

The kids remembered the sensory dinosaur enclosure we made over a year ago! And asked to do it again. Here is it, new & improved. The volcano exploded, we grew crystals, made the waterfall (finally found a use for orbees). What a wonderful project its been!

And our Room on the Broom project commences. First stop, Fire Breathing Dragons (& lots of scissor practice)

The great thing about rain is it creates more MUD for the kitchen! Great messy morning outside making paint car tracks 😁

One of the perks of my job (& living in London) is lots of outings: museums, parks, farms, libraries and our favourite... The zoo! Just a shame the excited kids won't keep still long enough for me to take many animal photos 🤣

Found some lovely off season "hedgehogs" in our adventures in the woods today. So beautiful once baked and decorated! Feels like Christmas again 🤣

Busy doing our Colour Monster craft today. Learning & talking about emotions. When they started to squabble over who was filling up the happiness jar it was a perfect time to talk about frustration, annoyance & what to do when we feel like that. Just a wonderful book! How do you feel today?

We didn't get snow this winter so we made our own! With papier mache ice mountains and polar bear dens we made our artic/Antarctica enclosure. Water play, experiments with ice, small world play and LOTS OF FUN!

Finally recovered from Covid enough to post these lovely pics of all the Christmas crafts we did last term! Including the card and presents for the parents and some pics of our fun filled Christmas party. Cannot wait to return to work and normality on Wednesday, missing all my kids and the joy they bring!

A little one was exploring their positioning schema today. Adorable 😁

Happy Thanksgiving (its meant to be a turkey 😉) I'm feeling very full after I joined the kids today for our big thanksgiving dinner. Yum! And great for practicing our social skills around the dinner table.

For Anti bullying week we designed our odd socks (everyone is unique) & played some games with the older kids. Tied in nicely with our focus on learning about emotions for the little ones!

Just LOVE my new tool to help my EYFS understand their emotions! "Hungry" seems to be the staple feeling 🤣

Exploring culture again. This time learning about Diwali with candles & Rangoli pictures. Guy Fawkes Day with salt paintings.

What a wonderful Autumn! Lots of fun at Halloween for dexterous little fingers.

I love Halloween, so many arts and crafts opportunities. Love our mummy fridge magnets today.

Loving the new mud kitchen/carwash😉 LOVE the imagination!! ❤️

So excited to get back to work tomorrow after a lovely holiday. My 7 year old "assistant" 😉made me a checklist to remind me how to do my job ❤️😂

It has been a wonderful summer term! The kids worked so hard on their Hungry Caterpillar project. It brought together everything we have been learning this year including working together and sharing resources, healthy eating, numbers, letters and colours and most of all it was so much fun!!! So proud of all my kids & even my under 2's know their numbers up to 10 and the alphabet! What a clever bunch!! Can't wait for the fun we will have in September!
